Description
Steel construction wit wedled system carrier. Aluminium covering- and pressure-strip. PE-foam insu-lator in the glazing rebate (0,038 W/(mK)). inside covered by reflecting Aluminium foil (ε=0,05). Plasticglass-carier on stainless steel screws. The losses by the screws werde determined by measurement(ift), the losses caused by the glass carrier by 3D-simulation (PHI). Used Pane: 48 mm (6/16/4/16/6),intersection of the Glass: 12 mm. Used spacer: Swisspacer V
Explanation
The element U-values were calculated for the test element size of 1.20 m× 2.50 m with Ug = 0.70 W/(m2 K).If a higher quality glazing is used, the element U-values will improve as follows:

Transparent building components are classified into efficiency classes depending on the heat lossesthrough the opaque part. The frame U-Values, frame widths, thermal bridges at the glazing edge, andthe glazing edge lengths are included in these heat losses. A more detailed report of the calculationsperformed in the context of certification is available from the manufacturer.The Passive House Institute has defined international component criteria for seven climate zones. Inprinciple, components which have been certified for climate zones with higher requirements may alsobe used in climates with less stringent requirements. In a particular climate zone it may make senseto use a component of a higher thermal quality which has been certified for a climate zone with morestringent requirements.
