Nimbeker. After a long journey of 8 hours and 35 minutes they reached Mamun Military Base Camp, which is the largest military base camp in Asia. The children enjoyed a tank ride at the camp. The way to Palampur was literally a pure expanse of landscapes and mountains. After reaching Palampur, the group took a turn for Baijnath from where Bir, the Paragliding site, was 7 km away. At night around 11 p.m. they reached Bir Paragliding site where Ex-Raists had already booked a guest house for the group. Next day they went to Billing Paragliding site that was 18 km steep journey from Bir. Billing was the offi cial paragliding site and it was 2400 meters above the sea level. The experience of paragliding was incomparable. It was really a once in a lifetime experience.

In KNS, the new year 2015 got the momentum with the Inter House GK Quiz, an informative and competitive activity which tested the general awareness of the students. The Suryans – Vardaan (SK–1203), Chitrakshak (SK–1247), Disha (SGK–1296) and Tannu (SGK–1220) grabbed the top spots and emerged as champions. The English Quiz, not far behind, was organized in the succeeding week and the team D comprising Rhythm (VGK–1296), Keshav (IK–1231), Aryan (SMK–1212) and Neha (SGK–1226) excelled and achieved the winners title.

The Inter-House Hindi Play competition was the biggest event of the term. It gave exposure and opportunity to a large number of students to fl utter their wings of imagination into the unlimited universe of dramatization. The stage was really a small world for the tiny actors and actresses and for the others to learn the dramatic expertise. The Suryans rocked the stage and outclassed everyone getting the fi rst position. Indra House with the second spot, was not far behind. Ajay (SMK–1214) and Tannu (SGK–1220) were adjudged as the Best Actor and the Best Actress respectively.

The calendar of the activities for the session 2014-15 closed down with the Annual Art competition, one of the important events, in which

The Rai family had two bereavements in the month of June.

Mr. H.S. Antal, Sports Offi cer, lost his mother and Dr. (Mrs.) Anju Vijairun lost her brother.

We are one with them in their moment of sorrow and pray for the eternal peace of the departed souls.

the whole school participated. The students let their imagination fl y into the beautiful and delightful horizon of colours and fantasy. It resulted in spectacular and beautiful creations. It was really a glorious moment, and we were awe-struck to see the tiny artists brushing up their artistic dexterity. Sachin Saurav (VK–1277), Anushka (IGK–1250) and Mahima (SGK–1226) outshone everyone and came up as the toppers in IV, V and VI classes respectively.

The new session kicked off with the well-loved and favorite competition Inter-House Hindi Elocution. The participants recited their poems melodiously and mesmerised the listeners. All were spell-bound and overpowered by the musical magic. Teena (IGK–1243) outclassed all the contestants and snatched the top position. Poorvi (IGK–1249) stood second. Then came the Inter-House English Elocution following closely. Parikshit (SMK–1310) left all the contenders far behind and got the top position.

Mr. Naveen Gulia, movitational speaker and author of two self-improvement books, came to Rai on May 9. This braveheart who met with an accident while training at the IMA, runs an organisation ‘Apni Duniya Apna Ashiyana’ for the welfare of the underprivileged children. He motivated the children to overcome all barriers to achieve their goals. Despite being on a wheel chair, Mr. Gulia radiated confi dence and contentment with life. He personifi ed the adage that ‘when life hands you a lemon, make lemonade’. Students and staff alike rose as one to give this real-life hero a standing ovation at the end of his presentation. The evening was truly inspirational.

To keep the students abreast of the global change and development and national and the international issues, special days are also observed with the active participation of the students and the proper guidance of the teachers. This term began with the Martin Luther King Day and continued with World Literacy Day, World Maths Day, World Science Day, Earth Day, Water Conservation Day and Labour Day which ushered in the long awaited summer break.
