What is the relationship between energy and frequency? The higher the frequency of a wave, the higher the energy.
Write down the equation that expresses this relationship. E=hf
ENERGY = PLANCKS CONSTANT X FREQUENCY
•Which wave in the electromagnetic spectrum has the most energy? Gamma Rays, as they have the highest frequency.

What is a photon? A quantum of energy from electromagnetic radiation.
Electromagnetic radiation can be described as a particle and a wave.
•The photoelectric effect can only be described with the particle model. A light is shone onto a metal. If the frequency of the light is above the threshold frequency, it can supply the metal’s electron with enough energy to escape the surface of the metal. The extra energy (above the work function) determines the speed the electron leaves at.
