LEED MR 4 Steel: Recycled, Recyclable, and Re-Usable (Product Life Cycle Optimization)Steel’s recyclabil ity is a key factor contributing to its being a sustainable material. Once steel is produced, i ts l i fe cycle is potent ia l ly endless because i t is easy to recover with magnets, and is 100% recyclable, without loss of qual i ty. Th is makes i t a permanent resource for society, as long as i t is recovered at the end of each product l i fe cycle.

LEED EQ 4.2Powder Coating (Low VOC-Emitting Materials)Powder Coat ing (Low VOC-Emitt ing Mater ia ls) Powder Coat ings produce the lowest carbon footpr int, as compared to other industr ia l coat ing systems. This saves 20-60% in CO2 emissions compared to solvent-borne coat ings, which typical ly require more paint to obtain equivalent coverage and more energy for solvent evaporation and air heating. Powder coating also lasts longer than solvent appl ications, thereby reducing future CO2 emissions. In addit ion, powder coating does not off-gas as solvents do, thereby creat ing a safer environment for both the appl icants and users.

Durabi l ityWe design and produce furniture that is meant to last generations. Our furniture will not end up on a curbside or in a landfill. If/when the finish needs to be redone, pieces can be re-coated, thereby restoring the piece to a like-new state. Whenever possible, we utilize one piece welded construction, eliminating the need for fasteners which can loosen and fail over time, thereby rendering the piece useless.

Low-WasteSince we control all manufacturing inputs, we are able to achieve efficiencies in production and material use, thereby l imit ing trash and keeping scrap to a minimum. Al l steel/aluminum scrap is recycled.

Living Wages We pay our workers living wages, allowing them to contribute to the communities in which they reside.
