Self-regulating Heat Trace CableSelf-regulating cable adjusts its output to independent-ly respond to temperatures all along its length. As tem-peratures increase, the heater’s resistance increases which lowers the output wattage. Conversely, as the temperature decreases, the resistance decreases and the cable produces more heat. The result—an energy efficient heating cable.

Srl, Self-regulating low-Temperature CableChromalox SRL self-regulating heating cable provides safe, reliable heat tracing for freeze protection of metal and plastic pipes, valves, tanks, and similar applica-tions. Constructed of industrial grade 16 AWG buss wire with a tinned copper braid and optional overjacketing, SRL ensures operating integrity in Division 2 hazardous environments as well as certain corrosive industrial environments. SRL heating cable has a maximum maintenance temperature rating of 150°F (65°C).

SrP, Self-regulating Process-Temperature CableChromalox SRP self-regulating heating cable provides safe, reliable heat tracing for process maintenance applications to 225°F (110˚C) or freeze protection of pipes and tanks with high heat losses. Constructed of industrial grade 16 AWG buss wire with a tinned copper braid and optional overjacketing, SRP cable ensures operating integrity in most hostile industrial environments.

Srm, Self-regulating medium-Temperature CableSRM self-regulating heating cable provides safe, reli-able heat tracing for process temperature maintenance and freeze protection of pipes, valves, tanks and similar applications. Constructed of industrial grade 16 AWG buss wire with metal braid and optional overjacket-ing, Chromalox SRM cable ensures operating integrity in most hostile industrial environments. The 420°F (215°C) maximum exposure temperature rating allows steam cleaning of process equipment with up to 300 psig (2 MPa) steam.

for applications That require a Specific and Constant Watt densityChromalox CWM constant wattage heating cable is ideally suited for applications where a particular watt density is required at all times. Its constant output makes it an ideal choice for higher temperature ap-plications where higher watt densities are required.

CWm, Constant-Wattage medium-Temperature CableChromalox CWM constant-wattage heating cable is a proven, reliable solution for industrial process tempera-ture maintenance and freeze protection. CWM cable features a parallel heating core that produces uniform thermal output over its entire length. It is flexible at most ambient temperatures and can be wrapped around piping and complex fittings. It is rugged, easy to monitor and maintain temperature, and has zero inrush at start-up. With 392°F (200°C) fIuoropolymer electrical insulation overjacketing, CWM cable has out-standing electrical and thermal properties, and is well suited for most chemically hostile environments. An extensive range of wattages and voltages is available immediately from Chromalox stock.

for High-Temperature applicationsThe most rugged heating cable in the Chromalox heat tracing product line, MI cable is constructed of a solid series resistor element embedded in highly compacted mineral insulation. The result is a cable that is built to handle high-temperature, high-wattage applications.

mi, mineral-insulated High-Temperature CableChromalox MI mineral-insulated heating cable provides rugged and reliable heat tracing on metal piping for a variety of demanding applications. The high-nickel-alloy sheath, magnesium oxide dielectric insulation, and resis- tance wire construction allow the tracing of equipment up to 1,100°F (593°C) maintenance temperatures and excellent resistance to many corrosive environments. At lower temperatures, watt densities of up to 50 W/ft (164 W/m) can be designed. Chromalox MI cable can withstand constant temperature to 1,400˚F (760°C).

ControlsintelliTraCe® Heat Tracing Control PanelThe Chromalox intelliTRACE control system is a complete control solution for heat trace applications, providing temperature control, monitoring, and power management in one package. The modu-lar design of the control panel and components allows selection of only those features needed for a specific heat trace installation, minimizing cost and simplifying system configuration. The system employs microprocessor-based controls and comes pre- wired and assembled. Single-loop and multi-loop units are available. Multi-loop intelliTRACE panels feature a simple color touchscreen operator panel.

dTS digital Thermostat KitThe DTS digital thermostat kit is a microprocessor- based temperature control and power connection kit used for freeze protection or process temperature maintenance of pipes or tanks protected by heat tracing products. This thermostat can be used with Constant-Wattage, Mineral-Insulated, or Self-Regulating heating cables in ordinary area or Division 2 hazardous area locations.

The 6- by 6-inch (152- by 152-millimeter) box houses the temperature control and monitoring unit along with terminals for connecting instrument power, heating cable, and RTD. The pipe stand-off allows for direct pipe mounting and termination of the heating cable directly in the box. This reduces installation time and labor cost to terminate the cable, and material costs by eliminating the need for an additional heat trace power connection kit.

Heat Trace CableHWm Self-regulating Hot Water maintenance CableHWM cable is specifically designed for hot water tem- perature maintenance applications. It features a self- regulating matrix that varies its output to accommodate changes in ambient or pipe temperature. This cable is designed to make up heat losses through the piping in-sulation and maintain consistent pipe temperatures for applications such as sink, shower, dishwashing, laundry, and kitchen service. HWM will maintain temperatures between 90° and 140°F (32° and 60°C). HWM cable and accessories provide a low-cost alternative to ex-pensive recirculation systems.

Srf-rg Self-regulating de-icing CableChromalox SRF-RG cable self-regulating heating cable provides reliable freeze protection of roofs and gutters. Because SRF-RG is self-regulating, it automatically adjusts to the appropriate heat output as ambient conditions change, making it both energy efficient and cost effective. When precipitation is anticipated and the cable is energized, the cable rapidly increases its output when in contact with snow or ice, providing maximum melting power. When the roof and gutters are clear of snow and ice, the SRF-RG cable will regulate its output and save energy.

mi-Sm, mineral-insulated Snow melting CableChromalox MI-SM cable is used for snow melting systems providing heat to keep asphalt, concrete, and paver surfaces free of snow and ice. It is similar to mineral- insulated cable used for industrial process applications, but MI-SM has a high-density polyethylene overjacket which protects the cable from the corrosive environment typical with embedded snow melting applications.

ControlsweatherTraCe™ freeze Protection Heat Tracing Control PanelThe Chromalox weatherTRACE control system offers power distribution, ground-fault protec-tion, individual circuit alarming, and line- and ambient-sensing control for freeze protection heat tracing all in one package. The modular design of the control panel and components allows selection of only those fea-tures needed for a specific heat trace installation, minimizing cost and simplifying system configuration. weatherTRACE Sentinel Monitoring with common alarm and re-ring feature is available to continuously monitor supply voltage to each individual heat trace circuit. The system employs microprocessor-based controls and comes pre-wired and assembled.

automatic Snow/ice melting System ControllersRegardless of the size and complexity of the snow melting system there is a Chromalox automatic snow and ice melting system controller that is right for effective, economical automatic control of snow melting systems. They feature multiple sensor capability, ground fault equipment protection with adjustable trip levels, and adjustable heater hold-on timer. The adjustable hold-on timer provides up to 10 hours of heater operation after precipitation or snowfall stops to complete snow and ice melting. Independent of weather conditions, a manual heater cycle switch can be used to operate heaters for the hold-on timer. This is useful for melting tracked or drifted snow and ice.

CiT-1 Snow SensorThe CIT-1 snow sensor detects falling or blowing snow as precipitation at temperatures below 38˚F (3.3˚C). The CIT-1 provides the industry’s most versatile and cost effective automatic snow melting control when used with a Chromalox auto-matic snow and ice melting system controller.

Reliability and sensitivity are key CIT-1 features. The solid-state design combined with a rugged aluminum housing and epoxy potting ensure many years of trouble-free service. Precision precipitation and tem-perature sensors ensure snow detection accuracy.

SiT-6e Pavement SensorThe SIT-6E reliably detects snow and ice conditions on pavement surfaces. This ensures that deicing heaters operate only while needed, minimizing energy costs without sacrificing snow and ice melting effectiveness. A built-in hold-on timer keeps heaters operating for an hour after snow or freezing precipitation stops to help ensure complete melting. The SIT-6E senses snow as moisture detected between the limits of -30˚F and 38˚F (-1˚ and 3˚C). Operation in the 32˚ to 38˚F (0˚ to 3˚C) degree temperature range eliminates unnecessary heater operation.

giT-1 gutter ice SensorUsed with a Chromalox APS automatic snow and ice melting control panel, the GIT-1 is specifically designed for mounting in gutters and downspouts where it can sense actual environ-mental conditions. This improves accuracy, operating heaters only while required, thus saving energy and ensuring reliable ice melting. The moisture and temperature sensors are solid-state for effective automatic control. The unique microcontroller design of the GIT-1 frees its moisture sensor from ice bridging, which occurs if incomplete melting near the heater or sensor leaves an air space that insulates thus preventing effective heater and sensor operation. Additional features prevent heater operation under conditions favorable to heater ice tun-neling. The GIT-1 sensor can be located as far away as 2,000 feet (609.6 meters) from the control panel.
