    1.3 Before you begin

1.3.1 Prerequisites for applying this patch

This patch package can be installed on the following Experion HS releases:

o Experion HS R400.1 o Experion HS Server Patch 3

This Server Patch is cumulative; it can be installed on the above releases irrespective of their previous Server Patch level (if any).

MS11-025 or any hotfix / security update that supersedes this is required for this patch. Specific details relating to MS11-025 can be found here:

    https://www.honeywellprocess.com/library/support/security-updates/Experion/Microsoft%20Update%20MS11-025.pdf

(Note that you’ll need to be logged on to see the content)

ATTENTION: Microsoft hotfixes / security updates must be applied prior to the installation and operation of this patch.

Use of deliverables in this patch for other purposes (e.g. Uniformance PHD PlantScape RDI) will require the installation of MS11-025 on the target machines.

1.3.2 Preserving Station Toolbar file customizations

This patch installs updated Station toolbar/menu configuration (.STB) files. If any STB files have been customized, please follow the steps below, prior to launching the installer:

    a) Navigate to C:\Program Files\Honeywell\Experion PKS\Client\System\R400 b) Move all the toolbar files listed above to another location (e.g. under

C:\temp\stb-backup\), removing them from the original location. c) Install this patch, and check the file C:\Program Files\Honeywell\Experion

PKS\Install\Software update log.txt to verify that all the above STB files have been installed

Any customizations will need to be reapplied to the STB files installed by this patch as per Section 2.5.2 Updating toolbar and menu configuration files.

software components successfully installed. i) Click OK to close the dialog. j) Restart the node - see Note i) below for additional considerations.

    Notes:

    i) If applying multiple Server patches at the same time there is no need to reboot and synchronize the servers between each patch application. Perform this once after all Server patches have been applied.

ii) If the software patch installer reports that some programs must be closed before installing, click “OK” to accept this and let the installer to terminate these programs. Otherwise, click “Cancel” to abort installation.

iii) If the software patch installer reports that some software components could not be installed, before restarting the server, shutdown those components using Task Manager and re-run all steps of the software patch installation.

2.2 Installing Software Patch on Redundant Server Systems

Before starting the next procedure extract ExperionHS_R400_ServerPatch5_Rev5B.exe from the zip file ExperionHS_R400_ServerPatch5.zip and save to a temporary directory on the node where the install is applicable.

To install a software patch on a redundant server system:

    a) Run the pre-installation steps for a Redundant Server System. b) Turn off file replication of the mapping files:

    i) In Station, navigate to Configure > File Replication. Do not change the “Send” checkbox from this display.

ii) Click on the “mapping” entry. The configuration page for the “mapping” file replication entry will be displayed.

iii) Untick the “Replicate files from this path” checkbox iv) Click the “Save” button

    b) On the backup server, run the software patch installation procedure for a non-redundant server system, skipping the pre-installation steps (i.e. complete instructions b to h).

    c) Synchronize primary and backup server databases d) Fail over the primary server to the backup server

The backup server will become primary and the primary server become backup.

    e) Run the software patch installation procedure for a non-redundant server system on the new backup server, skipping the pre-installation steps (i.e. complete instructions b to h).

    f) Synchronize primary and backup server databases g) Turn on file replication of the mapping files:

    i) In Station, navigate to Configure > File Replication. Do not change the “Send” checkbox from this display.

ii) Click on the “mapping” entry. The configuration page for the “mapping” file replication entry will be displayed.
