The existing Node B site will have UL interference due to shorter distance

between Node B and repeaters and improper repeater commissioning. The

sensitivity and coverage of existing Node B will reduce by adding new

repeaters to nearby Node B site.

    UL RF INPUTSilent modeDetection

    enable/disableUL PA

    Silent Mode

Silent mode detection will always detect the UL RF input.

When there are no subscribers making calls, the silent mode will disable the UL

PA, when there are subscribers making calls, silent mode will enable the UL PA.

Designed with Silent mode which can automatically deactivate UL PA when

there are no subscribers making calls, so the UL noise floor interference

towards the BTS can be avoided.

    Enable UL PA

    UL PA keep on

    silent modeDesigned for

    Operator A WCDMA

Since the repeater was designed for operator A with WCDMA system, when the subscriber

of operator A with WCDMA System were making a call, the repeater will activate the UL

    PA automatically.

When there are other signals go to the repeater, the repeater wont activate the UL PA,

because the repeater was designed only for operator A with WCDMA system according to

    the operator A frequency.

    UL PA keep on

    silent mode

    Designed for

    Operator A WCDMA

Silent Mode can detect the harmonic signal that goes to the repeater, so even if there is a

harmonic signal which is causing interference to the repeater frequency, the repeater will

not turn on the UL PA.

Silent Mode also can detect the interference which goes to the repeater that we dont

know where it is from, with the Silent Mode feature the repeater will not enable the UL PA

    Donor Signal Measurement

    23

Donor Signal strength can be measured

Donor Signal Quality can be measured

Donor Signal can either be 2G or 3G

Neighbors Information can also be measured

Potential Co-Channel and Adjacent Channel problem

    can be identified.

    Benefits

    26

    Optimization

The most appropriate location and direction for the donor antenna

can be find out with easiness, and optimization for the Repeatersystem becomes easy.

    Troubleshooting

The faulty problem can be located easily which would enhance theTroubleshooting efficiency

MaintenanceRepeater Status can be maintained even easier, since the comparisonof the donor signal and the service signal can be made morespecifically.

    27/39

    Cost Saving

    27

No additional equipment needs to be purchased

It may take some time to arrange the trip to site for troubleshooting.

Trip to site for troubleshooting would cost around USD200.

The problem may not always be coming from repeater, and the trip to the

    site may be in vain.

The donor signal measurement provide the means to rule out some of the

situations that when the problems are not coming from the repeater.
