CHRIST’S MISSION IS OUR MISSION As Jesus came out of the baptismal waters, the Holy Spirit descended upon him and a voice from the heavens was heard saying, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” In joining himself to humanity, Jesus opened the heavens for us, and in doing so, was confirmed in his mission of mercy and love. In baptism, we are joined with Christ. Immersed into his life and love, his mission is our mission. It is still early in this new year. Today, reflect on your baptismal call to live as a member of Christ’s body. In what ways do you love God and others? In what ways might you grow as a disciple of our Lord Jesus Christ? How are you living the mission of Christ, to make God’s love and mercy known in the world? Is Christ’s mission your mission?

A Note of Thanks from St. John’s Bread & Life
On behalf of all of us at St. John’s Bread & Life, I express my gratitude for the generous donation of $1,180 from Resurrection Church. This gift will help us feed and assist our vulnerable families and homeless neighbors during this busy festive period. We also thank you for your generous gift donations. We were able to distribute the gifts making Christmas brighter for many families. Kindness from donors such as you has been the engine that allows us to serve the poor on your behalf. Your commitment to our efforts inspires everyone at Bread & Life and gives us the gift of hope in this holiday season.
Thank you for your caring support. Sincerely, Sr. Caroline Tweedy, RSM Executive Director

What does RCIA mean? RCIA stands for the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. RCIA is the process through which non-baptized adults prepare for their Sacraments of Ini-tiation (Baptism, Confirmation, & Eucharist), & through which those baptized in other Christian faiths join into full communion with the Catholic Church. How Does One Become a Catholic? The Catholic Church warmly welcomes new members and the RCIA process tries to provide an appropriate spiritual formation according to each person's need. Therefore, the best way to determine HOW you can become a Catholic is to meet with the RCIA Coordi-nator to discuss your specific needs and discern where you are on your individual spiritual journey.
