At this stage, a good RFID integrator should
• guide customer, even by imposing itself• project a realistic RFID system • not promise the impossible ;-)• always be based on proven experience• remember RFID cannot guarantee 100%!!!
The Good RFID Integrator
This is so, more than in other technological fields

What must an RFID System do?

An RFID System
RFID = Radio Frequency IDentificationObject Identification Technology by Radio Waves
RFID System
An RFID tag is attached to every object, thus becoming univocally identifiable in the system
Identification of due objectsin a given context in front of a certain event

RFID Detection System
Detection Area Gate
RFID Detection SystemThe goods to be identified go through reading area, usually under a gate, and are detected by the system via reading of tags attached on objects which, under the field created by the gate antennas, report their identity, i.e. their “tag id”

RFID System
An RFID System
ReaderConnected to one or more antennas, it converts electric signals into digital ones, interpreting some of the info read on the tag
AntennaIt is the HW part transmitting/receivingradio waves for RFID tag info reading
Sensors Detect people/objects passing through, in order to identify items inside detection area
Middleware Manages the whole system, processes data and makes them available to users
Tag (or transponder)It is the element attached to items-to-be-identified, containing tag id
