Desperately seeking editor: beknowledgeable about Word or PDF;be able to use Spell-check; beorganized and be familiar with theACCSCGS
Editor's Note
The time has come for someone in the
club to take over the fun job of the editorfor the Anderson Record. My husbandand I are making a giant move to be nearour grandchildren and closer to ourdaughters after almost 40 years inAnderson.
At the time I took the editor's position, Iwas filling in for a friend. This led to a jobthat has lasted 9 years. It has been a funjob; I have enjoyed my time as editor. Inaddition, it is not a hard job. Technologyhas helped and it is possible that the nexteditor will be able to take the newsletter
online. I just put the newsletter togetherpage by page and take it to the printer. The printer makes my job lookprofessional but actually it is just basicreporting of the club and some of theresearch that has been gathered by ourvolunteers. I began not knowing muchabout Word (a Microsoft product) but ,now,by trial and error, I have learned a fewthings.
Please give this request considerationand volunteer to be editor sooner thanlater.

Question-Query answered withthe help of the Anderson CountyCity Directory.
Dear Ms. Duncan,We are from Rhode Island and justmade a trip to Georgia to engage ingenealogy research on my mother'sfamily. We stopped by Andersontoday as that is where my mother(who is 88) was supposedly born. Ihad never been to your town and itis truly lovely.I do have a couple of questions. MyMother's parents were married inLaGrange, Georgia but would maketheir way to Anderson in the early1920s where my mother would bebom. Her father worked in one ofthe mills in Anderson and I amassuming that they lived in one ofthe mill villages. They would havebeen residents in the mill villagebetween 1921-1923 and I amwondering if there was a censustaken of the mill village residents fortax purposes or otherwise that mighthave proven that they did live there. With Best Regards, AnnieMcMullen, Bristol, Rl
Ms McMullen, We found yourgrandmother and grandfather listedin the 1922-23 City Directory forAnderson County. Jas R and MorzelDaniel were living at 22 Wellingtonat Gluck Mills. He was a loom fixer.
Ms Duncan, Thank you so verymuch, Bingo, you found them. Mymother is going to be so pleased toknow that she was born inAnderson, SC and most likely in thatsame house. Thank you for yourhard work to help me find this fact. You made a difference in our lives.
