Rain Painting Activity Otters love playing in the water! On the next rainy day, you can play in the rain and make some beautiful art as well! What you need: ● Rainy day (or spray bottle with water) ● Watercolor paper ● Water-based markers or food coloring Directions: Make a design with drops of food coloring or water-based markers on your watercolor paper. Set in a tray and place out in the rain! If you don’t have a rainy day, you can get the same effect with water from a spray bottle. Keep an eye on your artwork so it doesn’t get too saturated, and bring it in and let dry when you like the look of it! Concepts: - Connection - all living things need water - Fine motor skills - drawing, squeezing What to say: ● What do you think will happen when we put our artwork in the rain? ● Rain helped us make art. What else is helped by the rain? ● Why do you think otters like the water?

Rain Painting Activity

Otters love playing in the water! On the next rainy day, you can play in the rain

and make some beautiful art as well!

What you need:

● Rainy day (or spray bottle with water)

● Watercolor paper

● Water-based markers or food coloring

Directions:

Make a design with drops of food coloring or water-based markers on your

watercolor paper. Set in a tray and place out in the rain! If you don’t have a rainy

day, you can get the same effect with water from a spray bottle. Keep an eye on

your artwork so it doesn’t get too saturated, and bring it

in and let dry when you like the look of it!
