QUIZZOPHRENIC 1.0THE ONLINE GENERAL SOLO QUIZ COMPETITION

Quizzophrenic 1.0: The online general solo

quiz competition was organized by Pratiksha Institute

of Pharmaceutical Sciences (PIPS) under Pratiksha

Educational Trust on 19th June 2020 for higher

secondary students of Assam and the North-Eastern

states. Due to the ongoing situation of COVID-19 the

entire quiz programme was conducted through the

Zoom app. Over twenty five students from various

educational institutes across the state, participated in

the quiz. The preliminary round of the quiz was

conducted through Google forms in which the

contestants had to answer a predetermined set of

questions within the stipulated time of thirty minutes.

From the prelims, ten participants were selected

based on evaluation of their preliminary answers, for

the mains that was conducted from 1 pm onwards.

The quizmaster for the mains was Dr. Chandrajit

Dohutia, a faculty member of PIPS. He was ably

supported by another faculty, Mr. Anupam Sarma.

The questions of the quiz covered various

backgrounds and fields and ranged from history and

geography to modern sciences, politics, mythology

and current affairs. All the participants gave some

brilliant answers and cracked some of the toughest

questions. The participants enjoyed the quiz

thoroughly. It was a truly unique quiz competition as

this mode of digital quizzing has not been used by

any institute of the State till date. After an

immensely close and cutthroat competition,

Geetanjali Das from KC Das Commerce College,

Shreemoyee Chatterjee from Don Bosco School,

Panbazaar and Jigyash Nath from St. Claret

School secured the top three positions respectively

and were awarded certificates and cash prizes. The

rest of the finalists were also provided with

appreciation certificates. PIPS has always focused

on knowledge and learning for building a better

world for everyone and will continue to do so in the

near future under the guidance of their dynamic

Principal and extremely helpful and supportive

management.
