1 | WHAT IS THIS DOCUMENTATION FOR?
If you chose not to import the optional demo data when installing todoyu, various settings are re-quired to be entered before managing your projects. This document shows you how to quickly create the necessary foundation of data, needed to start working effectively with todoyu.In a second step, a quick start guide will help you to create your very first project with tasks.
This document is not a manual for todoyu but shall guide you through the first steps. Enjoy todoyu!

2 | WHICH DATA IS NEEDED?
To start working with todoyu, you need some basic data. In the following chapter you will see which data is needed, what it is for and how to enter the necessary data.
The following steps will take only a few minutes.
2.1 | BASIC-DATA
First of all: All the basic data needed can be managed in the admin section of todoyu.1. You enter the admin section by clicking the tools icon in the top right of your screen.
2. Click the tab “All Records” to start entering the needed system data.

2.1.1 | PROJECT ROLES
Project Roles are needed to assign members of a project to specific roles inside the project.Project roles are not related to access rights.In several views inside todoyu, Project Roles are used to group project members by their specific roles. See the screenshots below.

2.1.2 | WORK TYPES
Work Types are needed to distinguish the different hourly rates of tasks.For example, at the end of a project you can calculate all hours of consulting with an hourly rate of 100.- and all hours of programming with a rate of 80.-.

2.1.3 | JOB TYPE
Job Types are defining the job position of a person as an employee in a company.It is useful for internal information and can be utilized as a job type filter in the calender view and for task filtering.

2.1.4 | CONTACT INFORMATION TYPE
Contact Information Types are used to distinguish different types of contact information like “Busi-ness Email”, “Private Phone”, etc. They are used in person and company data records.

2.1.5 | PERSON ROLES
Person Roles are sets of access rights settings, assignable to persons having a login to todoyu.The management section of person roles settings and the related rights settings are available within the admin section.

With this basic data being set up, your todoyu installation is ready for you to start managing all as-pects of your project effectively.

2.1.6 | USER RIGHTS
Person Roles are collections of User Rights.In the following screens you see how you can assign specific rights to specific Roles, which than can be assigned to the members of your team.

2.2 | NOT MANDATORY BUT HIGHLY RECOMMENDED DATA
2.2.1 | HOLIDAYS
A Holiday is a specific date in the calendar with a definition of working hours.For example Christmas. The related day will be marked in the calendar, so that all persons using the calendar can see it.

2.2.2 | HOLIDAY SETS
All Holiday records you entered in the last chapter will be collected in so called Holiday Sets.As holidays usually are bound to countries or regions, you have to assign them to addresses.In todoyu you can assign company addresses to Holiday Sets.
This causes all employees working at an address with an assigned Holiday Set, to have the related Holiday entries of that Holiday Set being shown in their calendar.

The following data is not included if you chose not to install the optional demo data.As this is only exemplary data, it is not implicitly needed to start using todoyu.

3 | CREATE YOUR FIRST PROJECT
Now that you have created all your basic data, you can start with your first project.Assuming you already have entered your first customer and project members, you can start right away to create your project by using the globally available create function (see next screenshot).Another possible start to enter your Project is switching to the Contacts view and entering the cus-tomers and project members data.
