1 This guide is intended as a quick reference. See Operator’s Manual provided with your Graco sprayer for full instructions on proper use and all safety warnings. Fire and explosion hazard: Solvent and paint fumes can ignite or explode. To help prevent a fire and explosion: • Use only in an extremely well ventilated area. • Eliminate all ignition sources; such as pilot lights, cigarettes and static arcs from plastic drop cloths. Do not plug or unplug power cords or turn lights on or off in spray area. • Ground Sprayer, object being sprayed, paint and solvent pails. • Hold gun firmly to side of grounded pail when triggering into pail. • Use only conductive airless paint hose. • Do not use 1,1,1–trichloroethane, methylene chloride, other halogenated hydrocarbon solvents or fluids containing such solvents in pressurized aluminum equipment. Such use could result in a chemical reaction, with the possibility of explosion. Fluid injection and fluid splashback hazard: High pressure spray or leaks can inject fluid into the body or can cause fluid to splash back. To help prevent injection and splashback: • Never allow children to use this unit. • Engage trigger safety latch when not spraying. • Keep clear of nozzle and leaks. • Never spray without a tip guard. • Do PRESSURE RELIEF if you stop spraying or begin servicing sprayer. • Do not use components rated less than sprayer maximum working pressure. Wear safety glasses at all times to prevent eye injury. QUICK START-UP GUIDE WARNING WASTE Remove spray tip and guard from gun. Connect hose to gun and sprayer. Turn Power Switch OFF. Plug sprayer into grounded outlet. FLUSHING OFF WATER ON WASTE WATER OFF If spraying oil-based materials,* submerge suction tube in paint thinner or compatible oil-based cleaning solution. If spraying water-based materials, submerge suction tube in water. Turn Power switch ON. With Spray/Prime valve still at PRIME, turn Pressure Control Knob to right (clockwise) until pump starts. Allow fluid to flow out of prime tube, into waste pail, for 30 to 60 seconds. Turn Power switch OFF. 1 2 3 1 2 3 5 Turn Pressure Control Knob left (counterclockwise) to minimum pressure. Turn Spray/Prime valve to PRIME. Unclip small drain tube from large suction tube and place into waste pail. *See Operator Instructions for more information on flushing with oil-based materials. SETUP 6 4 WASTE PAINT WASTE SAFETY ON SAFETY ON PRIMING SPRAYING Submerge suction tube in paint. Turn Power Switch ON, and trigger gun into waste pail. When paint comes out of drain tube, turn Prime/Spray valve to SPRAY. When paint comes out of gun, release trigger. Pump will build up pressure, and motor will stop. Transfer drain tube to paint pail. Put trigger safety lever in SAFETY ON position. Install tip and guard on gun, and hand tighten. You are now ready to spray. If tip clog occurs, this spray tip reverses, enabling you to quickly clear obstructions without disassembly. Turn the Pressure Control Knob right (clockwise) to increase pressure at the gun, and turn it left (counterclockwise) to decrease the pressure. Point gun at surface to be sprayed about 12 in (304 mm) away from surface, and begin moving the gun before you trigger it. A good spray pattern is evenly distributed as it hits the surface. Set the pressure so it is just high enough to spray without “tails.” If tails persist at the highest pressure, a smaller tip is needed to spray the material or the material may need to be thinned. Submerge suction tube inpaint. Turn Power Switch ON,and trigger gun into wastepail. When paint comes out ofdrain tube, turn Prime/Sprayvalve to SPRAY.

When paint comes out of gun,release trigger. Pump will buildup pressure, and motor will stop. Transfer drain tube to paint pail.

Put trigger safety lever in SAFETY ON position.

Install tip and guard on gun, andhand tighten. You are now readyto spray.

If tip clog occurs, this spray tip reverses, enabling you to quickly clear obstructions without disassembly.

Turn the Pressure Control Knobright (clockwise) to increasepressure at the gun, and turn it left (counterclockwise) todecrease the pressure.

Turn Power Switch OFF. Place suctiontube and drain tube into emptywaste pail. Turn Spray/Prime valve to PRIME to relieve fluid pressure.

With the trigger safety ON,remove tip and guard fromgun and place into wastepail for further cleaning.

Thread Power Flush™ attachment onto garden hose. Rinse paint off of suctiontube, drain tube and inlet screen.

Unscrew inlet screen from suction tube. ThreadPower Flush attachment onto suction tube.

Trigger gun into paint pail, and turn Spray/Primevalve to SPRAY. Turn Power Switch ON to pushpaint in hose into paint pail. When water comesout of the gun, keep gun triggered and move aimof gun into waste pail.

Trigger gun into waste pail for 1-2 minutes untilrelatively clear water comes out of gun.

Turn Prime/Spray valve to PRIME. Let water flowthrough sprayer into waste pail for 20 seconds.

Turn Power Switch OFF. Remove PowerFlush attachment from suction tube.

Clean tip, guard and inlet screen with a brush.Remove filter from spray gun, and clean with abrush. Reassemble spray gun guard/tip and filter.

Submerge suction tube and drain tube in storagefluid. Always use Graco Pump Armor™ or mineralspirits/paint thinner for storage fluid. TurnSpray/Prime valve to PRIME. Turn Power Switch ON.

Turn Pressure Control Knob to right (clockwise)until pump starts.

When storage fluid comes out ofdrain tube, turn Power Switch OFF.

Turn Prime/Spray valve to SPRAY.

Install inlet screen on suction tube for storage.
