Please follow the instructions at the end of this guide on how to download the Horizon Application. After installation, to open the Horizon Application, double click the VMware Horizon Client icon on the desktop. The Login box will be displayed. Type in your Windows Username and Password. NHSUK1 should be displayed in the Domain box. If not, click the down arrow and select NHSUK1 from the Domain list. Click Login. From the next window that is displayed, double click the Cheshire GP CCG Windows 10 icon to open the Windows Desktop. Opening the Horizon Application You will need to download the Horizon Application if you want to use your smart card. Please follow the instructions at the end of this guide on how to download the Horizon Application. After installation, to open the Horizon Application, double click the VMware Horizon Client icon on the desktop. The Login box will be displayed.

Type in your Windows Username and Password. NHSUK1 should be displayed in the Domain box. If not, click the down arrow and select NHSUK1 from the Domain list. Click Login. From the next window that is displayed, double click the Cheshire GP CCG Windows 10 icon to open the Windows Desktop.

Horizon Application Windows Desktop

Opening the Horizon Website Open a web browser, for example Internet Explorer or Google Chrome. Click into the Address Bar at the top of the window and type in the following website address and press Enter: https://view.cheshireremoteaccess.nhs.uk

From the open window, click on the hyperlink text VMware Horizon HTML Access.

The Login box will be displayed.

Type in your Windows Username and Password. NHSUK1 should be displayed in the Domain box. If not, click the down arrow and select NHSUK1 from the Domain list. Click Login. From the next window that is displayed, double click the Cheshire GP CCG Windows 10 icon to open the Windows Desktop.

A Docman Desktop App error message maybe displayed, click OK to close the box.

Horizon Website Windows Desktop

Access to Applications For Internet access, double click the Internet Explorer or Google Chrome icon on the Windows Desktop. Type in the website address in the Address Bar at the top of the window and press Enter. To access NHSmail, double click the NHSmail icon on the Windows Desktop. To access Docman, double click the Docman 10 icon not the Docman Desktop App icon as this will not work. When you open Docman 10 you may get an information message: To open Excel and Word, double click the relevant icon on the Windows Desktop to open the program. From the open program window, click File and Open to search for your files.

Clinical Applications For EMIS web, double click the EMIS web icon on the Windows Desktop. Enter your normal EMIS login credentials along with your CDB number. To access Clinical Workstation, double click the Remote Desktop icon on the Windows Desktop and enter the PC name or IP address of the device you are connecting to.

Access to your Desktop icons Click on the File Explorer icon on the taskbar.

From the open File Explorer window click your Network Drive on the left side of the screen. Double click the Desktop icon on the right to view your Desktop icons.

Using Ctrl+Alt+Delete

From the Horizon Application, click Send Ctrl+Alt+Delete from the toolbar at the top of the Window.

From the Horizon Website window, click the tab on the left side of the screen and click Send Ctrl+Alt+Delete to current work area from the toolbar.

Hiding the Toolbar Click the push pin to the left of the grey toolbar at the top of the window to hide the bar.

To un-hide the grey toolbar, hover over the top of the window so the toolbar is displayed and click the push pin so the toolbar will remain at the top of the window.

Please Note The Windows Desktop and profile is reloaded every time you log into Horizon. Any changes you make such as connecting to archives in Outlook will not be retained and will only remain until you log off. This is the same when using the Remote Desktop to connect to a Clinical Workstation; the PC Name or IP Address details will not be retained. You will need to enter the details each time you use Remote Desktop.

Lexacom Double click the Lexacom icon on the desktop. Click the arrow to Select a Site from the dropdown list:

Click Connect and Login with your details:

Logging Off Please log off Horizon if you are not using the application. Please note you will automatically be logged out of Horizon after 3 hours of inactivity. Click Options on the grey toolbar at the top of the window and click Disconnect and Log Off.

A confirmation message will be displayed:

Click the OK to confirm and the Horizon window will close.

Installing the Horizon Application Please DO NOT use the VPN/Swivel connection to download the software this is not required just a connection to Wi-Fi will be suitable. If you are using an Apple device, you will need to download the Horizon App from the App Store. Open a web browser, for example Internet Explorer or Google Chrome. Click into the Address Bar at the top of the window and type in the following website address and press Enter: https://view.cheshireremoteaccess.nhs.uk From the open window, click on the hyperlink text Install VMware Horizon Client.

An Information Bar will be displayed at the bottom of the Window, click Run:

A download confirmation will be displayed:

When the download has been completed a Horizon Client icon will be displayed on the Task Bar at the bottom of the Window. Click the Horizon Client icon:

Click Agree & Install

An installing message will be displayed:

When the installation is complete, click Finish:

Click Restart Now:

After the computer has been restarted a new shortcut, VMware Horizon Client will be added to your desktop. Double click the VMware Horizon Client icon:

The VMware Horizon Client will be opened. Double click the + symbol to add the server details.

Type in the text view.cheshireremoteacess.nhs.uk and click Connect:

After the application has finished connecting the Login dialog box will be displayed. Type in your Windows Username and Password. NHSUK1 should be displayed in the Domain box. If not, click the down arrow and select NHSUK1 from the Domain list. Click Login.

From the next window that is displayed, double click the Cheshire GP CCG Windows 10 icon.

The Windows Desktop will be opened:

If you use the accuRx application, click Continue to download the application or click the X in the top right corner to close the window.

Installing accuRx After logging into Horizon for the first time, the accuRx Installer box will be displayed. Click Continue.

A confirmation box will be displayed when the installation has been completed. Click Done.

The Welcome box will be displayed, click Sign In.

From the open window enter your Username and Password. Click Activate Product.

Install iGPR If the iGPR Update box is displayed, click Update.

The Installer for iGPR box will be displayed, click Install

A confirmation box will be displayed, click OK and close any open boxes.

Authenticating with a Virtual Smartcard You will need to login to the Isosec Identity Agent first. Navigate to the Notification Area in the bottom right corner of the window near the time.

Click and right click on the Isosec Identity Agent icon and click Login.

Type in the registered email address and Virtual Smartcard Passcode. Click Submit to login.

Select the role you wish to authenticate with and click OK.

The iO Identity Agent icon will turn green once authenticated accessed from the Notification Area as shown below:

You will now be able to use your clinical applications as you would with a physical smartcard.
