Please follow the steps to set up your TV:
Considering the Signal Types
The signal types make a difference in the picture quality. To get thebest picture quality, consider the signal types and the connectionbest suited for that signal type. The chart below shows the differentsignal types.

Even with High Definition or Digital Content Subscriptions, notall content may be available in those formats. Each individualprogram will list if it is available in HD format. Contact your localservice provider for details on your service and availableprogramming.
In order to receive High Definition, you should use HDMI orcomponent YPBPR video connection to your video equipment orcoaxial to your over-the-air broadcast antenna. Connection usingthe yellow composite or S VIDEO will not provide HD qualitysignal to your TV.

TV Guide On Screen™ System2Programming the Remote Control
The remote control is preset to operate mostSony brand video equipment. Follow the stepsbelow to program your TV's remote control tooperate non-Sony video equipment.Find the three-digit code for your equipmentfrom the “Manufacturer's Codes”.Refer to the Operating Instructions for codes.
1 Press and hold the BD/DVD , DVR/VCR or SAT/CABLE FUNCTIONbutton you want to program on the remote controland press the button simultaneously.
The selected FUNCTION button ( BD/DVD , DVR/VCR or SAT/CABLE)will flash.
2 Within 10 seconds (while the FUNCTION button islit), enter the three-digit manufacturer’s codenumber using the 0-9 buttons.If the code is not entered within 10 seconds, youmust start again from step 1.
3 Press the button while the FUNCTION button islit.
When the programming is correct, the selectedFUNCTION button blinks twice, and when not,blinks five times.
4 Aim your TV’s remote control at the equipment,and press the green button. If you can turn theequipment on and off by using the remote control,then the programming is complete. If not, try thenext code listed.
For tips on programming the remote control, refer to the“Programming the Remote Control” section of the Operating Instructions.

Depending on the broadcast signal or the way the DVD disc is formatted,you may see bars on the screen or stretched images.Press the WIDE button repeatedly to cycle through different screenmodes and select the mode that best meets your TV viewing.
This button provides an alternate way to access some of the features.It also provides direct access to some of the “Settings” menu options.The menus you can select may vary depending on the input signal.
This button allows you to easily navigate to the most convenient TVfunctions shown below: External Inputs, Favorites, TV Guide On Screen,last viewed TV channel from Cable or Antenna, and Settings.The Settings option enables you to make adjustments and customizesettings for Picture, Sound, Screen, Channel, Parental Lock and more.

Initial Setup
Use the remote control when following the steps below.
1 Press POWER on the TV front panel to turn on the TV.
The Initial Setup screen appears.
2 Press V/v to highlight the on-screendisplay language, then press .
The Date and Time screen appears.
3 Press V/v/B/b to set the current date and time.
4 When you finish setting the date and time, highlight “OK” and press .
The message “Start auto program now?” appears.
5 Press V/v to highlight “Yes” then press .
Auto Program performed through Initial Setup willautomatically create a list of receivable channelsfrom both VHF/UHF antenna and cable TV chan-nels if both sources are connected.
6 After Auto Program is complete, press to pro-ceed to the TV Guide On Screen system setup.
7 When the Welcome screen appears, press againto begin the setup.
Make sure you finish Auto Program before startingthe TV Guide On Screen system setup.
To run Auto Program afterwards, refer to the “Initial Setup”and “Auto Program” sections of the Operating Instructions.
8 After all the setup is complete, verify the setupinformation, and if it is correct, select “Yes” to endsetup.
TV Guide On Screen System Component
The LISTINGS screen below will appear only after the Initial Setup hasbeen completed. You will not see this screen unless you first run InitialSetup.
1 Video Window - Displays the current TV video while the TV Guide On Screen system isdisplayed.
2 Clock - Displays the current time.3 Title - Displays the show’s title. Highlighted title indicates the active title.4 Current Service Label - Indicates the current TV Guide On Screen system service that
the TV is using.5 Service Bar - Provides access to the 4 main TV Guide On Screen system services.6 Info Icon - Press the DISPLAY button on the remote control to cycle through the various
Info Box sizes.7 Info Box - Provides information on the highlighted program.8 Time Slot - Provides program airing time.9 Tile - Displays the specific TV station and program of the current listing.10 Remind Icon - Indicates that a reminder option is set for the program.11 HDTV Show Icon - Indicates the program is being broadcast in High Definition.12 Channel Logo/Number - Displays the channel logo and/or number for easy network
identification.13 Panel Menu / Panel Ad - Press the MENU button on the remote control to view the
Panel Menu, which displays menu items for different services. Panel Ad displaysproduct or show information (advertisement).
The TV Guide On Screen system service requires access to selected broadcasts which maynot be available in all cases.
