WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO...

Graphic Design students have had the opportunity to work alongside award winning local brewery, Oakham Ales to create the original artwork for November 2020’s Seasonal Ale.

Student’s were able to put their skills to the test, developing the beer’s name and image to present to the brewers at Oakham Ales. The winning design ‘Cosmic Jellyfish’ by Level 3 Graphic Design student Jordan Griffiths, will now feature on pump clips in pubs across the country and be used in the promotion of the 2020 Seasonal Ales.

John Bryan, Director of Brewing said, “The artwork we received was really interesting and different to what we could have designed in house which gave us a different angle to work with. We’ve been surprised with the quality of work produced by the students that sit well in our portfolio. We want to thank them for giving us a great selection of designs to choose from and to the staff for their help with the project.”

Graphic Design Lecturer Pam Mairs, approached Oakham Ales to secure this exciting opportunity for her students allowing them to get involved with a real live brief to add to their design portfolios.

She said, “Working with Oakham Ales has been a fantastic opportunity for my students to create original artwork for a real business and to gain experience in pitching artwork to potential clients.”
