• What is the National Anthem?• The Hymne to the liberty.• It was written in 1823, after our
war of independence by Dionysios Solomos.

• We speak Greek but most people speak English and other European languages as well.

• What’s the weather like?• In the winter it rains a lot and it
snows, especially in the mountains, and in the summer it is sunny.

Meditteranean with mild, wet winters and hot,dry summers.

pie with spinach)
What are the traditions?During Easter we dye red eggs on Holy Thursday and we also have the
procession of the Epitaph on Good Friday.We also celebrate the Carnival and our National Days (the 28th of
October and the 25th of March, the day of our Independency)

• Maria Kallas, a famous opera singer(1923-1977)
• Georgios Seferis(1900-1971)
• He was one of the most important Greek poets of the 20th century, and he was awarded the Nobel Prize for
Literature in 1963.
