QUESTIONNAIRE RESULTSBY VICKRAM SINGH

WHAT IS YOUR AGE?

This question was used to find the target age group. We found out that the age group from 18 to 24 was the ones we asked the most.

As soon as the audience found out that this questionnaire was about films overall they wanted to take par in it. This could perhaps give an idea of how eager the 18 to 24 age group is to take part in film questionnaires.

To keep this questionnaire fair we asked other age groups too but only one or two of them wanted to take part.

WHAT IS YOUR GENDER?

The gender we found out was the most interested in supernatural/horror movies was females. Research shows that females are the most interested in the supernatural/horror genre.

To keep the questionnaire fair we forced males to take part in the questionnaire as we wanted to see whether or not the males answered the questions the same as the females did.

WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THE SUPERNATURAL HORROR GENRE?

This question was left out to give the audiences own opinion. We found out that some of the audience do not really know about the genre as some haven’t event watched proper horror movies.However, those who do know about the genre gave quite decent answers. They mentioned the top supernatural/horror movies that we already knew of and what types of characters are in these types of movies. Some people even knew when the movies are normally released e.g. near Halloween. Therefore, this gave us some confidence about them answering the rest of the questions as this made us think of how similar the rest of the answers are going to be.It directed them into a right way.

WHAT DO YOU EXPECT TO SEE IN A SUPERNATURAL/HORROR MOVIE?

This question was also left for the audience to give their opinion on what they think should be in a supernatural/horror movie. This question gave us an insight of what should be in our trailer. We found out that the audience mainly want to see blood and death in horror movies.Some of the audiences also replied with scary monsters or characters. This question was not very broadly answered as it didn’t give us the information that we required.

DO YOU LIKE SUPERNATURAL/HORROR FILM?

The majority of the people that answered this question said they enjoyed the supernatural/horror genre however there were two people that did not like this genre.

Those two people clearly didn’t answer the rest of the questions accurately as they don’t like the genre.

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU WATCHED A SUPERNATURAL/HORROR MOVIE?

This question was also left for the audience to reply as there could have been a broad diffenrece since they have watched a supernatural/horror movie.However the answers that we got were quite near to the date the questionnaire was set out. This allowed are answers to be more accurate as they had watched it such a near date they would have more information on it.This allowed us to gain more information on the genre.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU GO THE CINEMA IN A MONTH?

This question is a leading question to the previous one. This helped us know of how often they go to the cinema as it gives us an idea of how many viewers our trailer is going to have.

WHEN DO YOU EXPECT A SUPERNATURAL/HORROR MOVIE TO BE RELEASED?

This question gave us an insight of when we should release our film. This shows that the audience decided that it should be released on Halloween although the majority of the audience did decide Friday the 13th.

We then decided that it should be released near Halloween so we decide it should be released in October. Therefore on our poster it says coming “this October”

WHAT MARKETING DO YOU THINK IS THE MOST IMPORTANT WHEN PROMOTING A FILM?

In this question we asked the audience on what they think is the most important marketing strategy for a film. From the results we got we can tell that the audience think trailers are the most important.

Although the other are more important I think that trailers are the most viewed from all the other even though people are more on social site such as Facebook, twitter and Instagram etc.

WHAT HAS BEEN THE BEST SUPERNATURAL/HORROR MOVIE YOU HAVE WATCHED?

This one allowed the audience to give their best supernatural/horror film. Obviously those who enjoy the genre can only say they like it. The most frequent film we got was Carrie from 2006 and 2006. The reason for this could be the amount of horrific scenes there are in the film and the plot could also have been interesting for the audience to like it so much.
