Questionnaire Results and how I will interpret the final results into my magazine. I handed out a selection of questionnaires to a range of people within the target audience in which my magazine will be aimed at, that of young adults aged between 15 and early 20’s. I took the results and put them into a bar chart to see the most popular ideas and the least popular. This allows me to know what my target audience wants and is interested in, within the music industry and what they want to read, as I am producing a magazine for entertainment for my audience. Therefore, with these results I will use the information to interpret these ideas into my magazine, to make an integrated music magazine with the different and popular tastes of today’s music interests. • 1. Questionnaire Results and how I will interpret the final results into my magazine. I handed out a selection of questionnaires to a range of people within the target audience in which my magazine will be aimed at, that of young adults aged between 15 and early 20s. I took the results and put them into a bar chart to see the most popular ideas and the least popular. This allows me to know what my target audience wants and is interested in, within the music industry and what they want to read, as I am producing a magazine for entertainment for my audience. Therefore, with these results I will use the information to interpret these ideas into my magazine, to make an integrated music magazine with the different and popular tastes of todays music interests. 2. Here my results have shown that Q magazine was the most popular and Mojo magazine the least popular. Compared to NME and Kerrang, which are rock and heavy metal based magazines, Q is lighter and more indie and pop magazine. Therefore, as the target audience preferred Q magazine I will take into consideration the advertisement and layout that Q magazine uses and interpret into my magazine to know the style and type of things I need to include in-order to attract the audience I am aiming towards.Which following music magazine do you read? 3. Magazines sell weekly or monthly. These results tell me that people purchase a magazine weekly. Therefore, I will have to produce a magazine with enough information to keep the audience informed, entertained and interested, in-order for them to want to purchase another magazine. In-order for me to compete within the music magazine industry, I will have to produce a full packed magazine, selling weekly so people will only have to wait each week to hear about their latest celeb gossip and music updates, appose to those handful of magazines they have to wait monthly to be published.

  • Do you prefer to buy your magazine

4. Beyonce, Alesha Dixon, John barrowman PussyCat Dolls, Rihanna, Ne-yo Tracy Chapman, Outcast, Pink Lady Ga-Ga, Lily Allen, Kings of leon Take That, Lady Ga-Ga, Gwen Stefani Jason Mraz, Pink, Beyonce Pink, Anastacia, Christina Aguilera Beyonce, Rihanna, Chris Brown

  • Name three of your favourite music artists:

Above shows is a list of results of the audiences top three favourite artists of todays society. This will help me to see who is popular and the top artists that are in the lime light in todays music industry. This will also allow me to choose which type of genre music magazine I will produce, to attract the target audience, and also know which artist/type of artists I will include into the magazine, in which I know the audience is and wants to know about. 5. Celebrity style magazines seemed to be the best selling genre magazine, which the audience preferred. Therefore, I will interpret celebrity gossip into my magazine, so the audience will have a range of celebrity gossip, and the latest music information all in one.

  • What type of magazine do you usually purchase?

6. This shows me that the audience is more interested in upcoming events and celebrity gossip when they choose a particular style of magazine. Therefore, in-order for me to keep the audience entertained and interested in the type of information in magazines, I will include upcoming events and celebrity gossip, also in the magazine.

  • Why do you choose this particular type of magazine?

0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 For Entertainment Because they are interesting To read about the latest artists Upcoming events and celeb gossip 7. The results show that magazines are purchased occasionally, however, as it is only a selection the audience I will construct a magazine in which the audience would want to purchase the magazine more than occasionally. This allows me to choose styles that make the magazine unique in-order to pursue this.

  • How often do you read them?

0 1 2 3 4 5 6 Always Occasionally Rarely Less Always Occasionally Rarely Less 8. The most interesting parts of a magazine, in which the results show, are interviews and features. This allows me to know exactly the features I will need to interpret into the magazine in-order to include the audience interesting and favourable features of a typical magazine.

  • What part of the magazine interests you the most?

9. As I am constructing a music magazine, and having to fill a gap in the market, one of the questions were to see which music is the most popular and interesting in todays society. To make the magazine unique to others the results have shown the most popular music is R&B/Pop, which will be interpreted to be the genre of the magazine, therefore, successfully filling a gap within the market.

  • What is your favourite type of music?

10. Like most magazines they include advertisements. Therefore, I will include several advertisements, the results above show the way in which people prefer to listen to much, therefore, I can produce competitions and advertisements, advertising the most popular technology for people to listen to their favourite music to.

  • In which way do you prefer to listen to music?

11.

  • Do you prefer magazines, which are

As I am aiming for a magazine which includes a different style, a mixture of music, celebrity gossip, fashion etc to reach out to a wider audience, this helped me as I am now aware that the majority of audience wants to see a magazine which covers a range of information and style. 12. In-order to include conventions of a magazine and interpret those to the magazine. In-order to keep the audience entertained and informed I will have to include a number of advertisements promoting several things such as music artists, perfume (for the women audience) and up coming concerts and event listings etcThese results allowed me to have an idea of the type of advertisements to include.

  • Do you go to concerts/gigs etc/or have been?

13. My results have shown that the cover-star is the first thing they notice and attracts them to a magazine. Therefore, in-order to attract the attention of the audience I will have to carefully consider the photo in which I include on the front cover in order to attract and persuade the audience3 to want to read on. In-order to successfully produce this I will also have to include a catchy title to sum up the cover-star, again to attract the audience.

  • When you pick up a magazine what is your attention brought to the most?

14. The results allowed me to see which price range the magazine would be most reasonable. 99p-1.50 was the most popular, therefore, In order to make the magazine different to the ones already existing I will have to make sure the price is of a reasonable range, something not too cheap, so it is still worth competing with the other magazines, and not too expensive, so the target audience can afford it.

  • How much are you willing to pay for a magazine?

15. Yellow/Black and pink seem to be the colours, which attract people the most. This will help me interpret my magazine by choosing these colours as my overall colour scheme, as I know that it will sell and look attractive if the majority of the vote was in its favour.

  • Which colours do you prefer?

16. Overall, the questionnaires help me to know what people wanted and look out in buying in a magazine. To the type of things they read in the magazine to the colours and layout of the magazine. I wanted to design a magazine, which is suited and aimed at a particular audience, which are interested in music, gossip, celeb and more, to cater for a wider audience so they feel like they only need to purchase my magazine, as it will have everything they want in one. Also knowing what the audience prefer and want in a magazine, allowed me to consider the audience which are left out within the magazine industry, that of more R&B/Pop based magazines, which dont just cater for Inide/heavy metal/rock etc I will interpret the most popular ideas that have been chosen in order to produce an attractive and popular magazine, which will compete with the existing music magazines.
