  • 1. Questionnaire Analysis

2. Questions 1 and 2 In this question I found that the most popular price people would be willing to pay is 2.50 to 2.99, this was the cheapest price we offered however 52% were also willing to pay up to 3.99, therefore we could potentially choose a reasonable price within this price range. In question 2 we asked about a free CD, we got an almost 100% answer of yes meaning that this would be a good idea to include in our magazine, when we create our final design we will have to consider if this idea will be taken forward or not. 3. Question 3 and 4 I can take forward from this question that we need to make sure we have an equal text to picture ratio or a larger amount of pictures to text, we therefore need to make sure we do not add too much text however we do not want to add in too little that there articles are not worth including. This question was all about the house style, we got a higher result for purple/black/white and blue/black/white than the traditional colours, this therefore shows me that the audience want a bit of variety from the existing magazines on the market therefore making me think we should steer away from the popular colours used. 4. Question 5 and 6 We got an ratio of 60% to 40% when asking if our audience would prefer to have an unorganised messy arrangement of text or a more organised neat arrangement. This shows me that I need to consider the arrangement very specifically when writing up my double page spread in order to make it neat however short enough to encourage the reader to watch it. When comparing the results for mode of address I found that people would prefer a more informal chatty tone for the articles, this surprised me as I though they would prefer a more intellectually written article than once that used colloquial language. 5. Questions 7 to 8 Up and coming artist are always mentioned at some point in the music magazines currently o the market, therefore we needed to consider how much we should write about them in comparisons to magazines such as Kerrang! and RockSound, we asked our target audience if they what type of artist they would prefer on the cover of the magazine, over all we got a total of 88% for a mixture of both, meaning we should definitely include both however overall we got a slightly higher percentage for established artists meaning that our main features should be about an established band. Both was the most popular result we got for the content we should include in our magazine, this means I will consider either of the two choices for my double page spread, I could also however incorporate a review into my interview in order to cover both angles. 6. Question 9 and 10 As we got a popular result for both types of pictures I will consider adding in a picture for each of my 3 pages, a posed one would be more suitable for my front cover however in the double page spread and contents page I can add a variety. We decided to ask our audience if they had a preferred magazine from our genre that is currently on the market. Over all we got a preferred result of Kerrang! this shows us that we should analyse this magazine most overall, it is most popular meaning that our would be more successful if it had some similarities with some differences to make it original
