  • Questionnaire (Out of 20 surveyed)

#1: Approximately how long do you spend grocery shopping?

  • #2: What key words do you associate with Australian products?

Pride Quality Safety Nutritious Nationalism Identity Culture #3: Would you pay extra for Australian grown produce? 18 out of 20 said yes. When asked why the remaining two said no, their responses were that they were indifferent to the Australian produce as it is not an urgent priority in their lifestyles. They believed that they trust in the health standards of farmers all over the world and would rather just purchase the most cost efficient products. #4: What do you think of the Nanas frozen berry scandal? Most responses were generally ranging from complete indifference to slight concern. The most common issue raised was that customers should be aware of a brands health and safety standards when importing food to Australia. Few customers had little to no concern as they claimed they were already cautious about pre-packaged food and would only buy fresh produce if needed. #5: Do you know how food imports are affecting Aussie farmers? The general consensus was that most people saw food importing as tough competition to Australian farm-ers. Moral and ethical decisions go through the customers thoughts before chosing to buy either Australian grown produce or imported produce. Only a small handfull of people were unaware of the current ecconomical situation and simply thought that everything was fine.
