Teaser Trailer vs. Full TrailerA teaser trailer is usually a lot shorter and snappier, it features a few key scenes presenting the protagonist of the film and is used to create hype and excitement about an upcoming film due to be released. Teaser trailers tend to last up to two minutes and let the audience know briefly what month the film will be brought out, as it may still be in production. Teaser trailers are usually created for big-budget films and popular themed films. Sometimes scenes are used in the trailer which do not even appear in the film itself, they are just purely to entice their audience to see the film.

Whereas a full trailer may reveal significant details about the narrative of the film, a full trailer can last as long as five minutes. It allows the target audience to really get an insight of the film and the characters which will be shown in the film; sometimes a full trailer (theatrical trailer) may be seen to give too much away. Being longer it doesn’t necessarily cause as much hype, which is why some companies will release a full trailer and a teaser trailer to appeal to both audiences.
