Preliminary Task

Our preliminary task wasn’t as we hoped for, this was mainly due to our little understanding regarding camera shots, and editing. However, throughout our production I have learnt many new skills as opposed to when I was creating my preliminary task which allowed me to be more creative while creating our thriller.

Blank space was an issue we encountered, we didn’t focus fully on mise-en-scene and noticed this when we watched back our preliminary Task. Therefore, we focused wholly on mise-en-scene and the importance of it within our final production.

Our final product was carefully produced, we selected certain books that would typically be on a therapists bookshelf.

Lighting was a key issue in our preliminary Task, we didn’t plan efficiently which resulted to us filming against light which wasn’t a sensible decision. Many scenes within our final production were outside, so we relied wholly upon natural light. This was a slight issue as typically we wanted a dark atmosphere however, it was uncontrollable.

Our preliminary and final product was filmed in a school. This inspired us to develop a plotline which centres around a certain profession as it would be less difficult to construct.

Equipment such as computers, books and offices were easy to access. Filming in a school didn’t drawback our creativity, working with what we had access to was challenging yet enjoyable.
