What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

During pre-production a small
Panasonic HDCH580 handheld
camera was chosen as we felt
that it would be much more
efficient to use if we were
wanting some scenes within
our film to be shot specifically
to look like they were handheld. We also used this
camera for the filming of our
preliminary exercise. Although,
the use of a more advanced
camera could have produced a
better quality final product.

From the use of this editing
software, I have been able to
effectively create a final product
that I am happy with. I have also
been able to construct it in such a
way that allowed us to control the
pace of the film. Originally the shots
were all of natural lighting but with
the help of ‘Final Cut Express’ a filter
was added to make the scenes in
the woods seem much more eerie.
This was done as the setting limited
us with the times in which we could
film. I also learnt how to cut shots
and apply transitions in order to
improve the continuity of the
project.

‘Google’s Blogger’ was a useful
way of keeping track of our
project throughout its production.
It allowed us to post any research
that was undertaken during
preproduction, make changes
during production and then later
evaluate what we had done
during post production. It was
also a good way of keeping track
of what was yet to be done and is
a visual way of presenting the
progress our project had made
from pre-production to the final
product.

In order to gain constructive
criticism a number of different
methods were undertaken in order
to gain feedback. Both ‘Google
Questionnaires’ and social
networks such as ‘Facebook’ were
used as we felt that these were the
most appropriate feedback
methods to use for our targeted
audience. We also used ‘Facebook’
to advertise our project and the
questionnaire associated with it.
Had we used a wider range of
social networks, I feel that we could
have reached a wider audience and
therefor received better feedback.
