Question 6What have you learn about

technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Page 2: Question 6

What have you learn about technologies from the process of

constructing this product? What we learnt is that a HD camera

as the one we used is rather effective as it gave a clearer appearance to our film and made it more enjoyable to watch.

This is because with a standard camera, it doesn’t give as good a standard as a HD camera.

The HD camera made things easier too as we had the grid for rule-of-thirds on the screen so we knew where to place things and where was the most effective positions for the characters, props and background objects.

Other technologies Other technologies we used for our

product were iMovie, garageband and YouTube.

We used iMovie to create our film; to put everything together, to add the non-diagetic sounds, the title and credits.

This was effective as it was easy to use and so this didn’t make us take too much time to edit.

With garageband, we edited the track and added the different pitches. It was at first hard to use but after playing around, it was easy to get and were able to do things such as editing quicker.

However, with YouTube we found trailers and OST’s (Official Sound Tracks) to films and this helped us find what was the most effective types of fonts and music needed to create an effective title.

Conclusion Furthermore, what I learnt is that with today’s

modern technology, it is much easier to create a film than first thought and to collect research online from sites such as YouTube is really helpful as there are many different trailers and OST’s posted up and also, people who make their own mini movies post films up and this also gave us an idea (especially with those who had made similar genre films) on how to make it as effective as we could to make our audience feel more interested in the film.
