From constructing this media product I have learnt about new technologies (hardware AND software) one of the pieces of software I have learnt a lot about is Photoshop.

I used Photoshop a lot in creating my media product along side with other software's like word and publisher. Photoshop was the main program I used while creating my media product was Photoshop as it is a high end editing software unlike paint etc… therefore the best program for creating my media product to get the most effective magazine possible.

What have I learnt? From creating my media product I have learnt a lot about Photoshop. One thing I have learnt is how to use layer styles oh certain layers to make a layer more effective and not look boring. I have also learnt how to put layers in order to create the best effect for a magazine (ex) main image overlaps everything as it’s the most important part of the cover as it sell the magazine.

I used a DSLR camera over a digital or phone camera for better quality images; as I used a DSLR camera I learnt a lot about this piece of technological equipment.

What did I learn? I learnt how to focus on a certain person in order to create an effect an also get a certain or better quality image, I also learnt how to use different lenses for different shots, for example I stood in the same place but used a smaller lower zoom lenses for mid and long shots but for close up used a bigger longer zoom lenses as it could zoom in further, this helped me a lot as it meant I didn’t have to move about with the camera allowing me to g get the same picture at different distances. I a also learnt how to take multiple shots in a a matter of second this helped a lot as I could t therefore pick the best quality / image to use a as there is multiple images to choose from w where if I didn’t use this I would have one a maybe two images.

How have I used Microsoft word? I have mainly used it to remove back grounds from simple images by selecting the image and select format then remove background, this is easier to remove a background compared to Photoshop with images with a simple shape and background.

Step one: click on format when the image is selected

Step two click remove background and select the area's you want to remove

After that select keep changes and the background will be remove that you have selected

What have I learnt? From this I have learnt an easier way to remove background of simple shapes rather than using the more complex quick select or magic wand tool, I used this tool more for less important and simple images like my background image of the brick wall for example, I also used the crop tool along with this to select part of the image or an area that I want.

I used blogger all the time throughout making my media product, I used it to post production logs and all my work was submitted onto blogger including audience questionnaire results to identify a target market, copy of my magazine to get feedback so I can improve the design etc…

I think it was very helpful as it helped me identify an audience and get feedback which helped a lot it was also good as all my work is posted on my blog allowing it to be assessed via blog rather than me printing pages out.

I have never used a blog before this and I found it very helpful and a more effective way to submit work.

• How to change dates on the blog to order posts

• How to post images and embed files

• How to use it along with other google programs like slide share, doc and especially google forms as it enabled me to send a questionnaire out to a lot of people and gain data back quickly.

Blogger

I used my mobile phone a lot during the making of my media product. I used it to send image files to my pc via email, this is images I have taken on my phone for example the picture of a concert on my contents page.

I have learnt a few things about my phone especially using certain photo editing apps to get certain pictures the way I want them, I used this app twice as its quicker than editing a photo on Photoshop.
