AUDIENCE?

WHAT I WAS GOING TO DO TO MAKE MY MAGAZINE ATTRACT

THE TARGET AUDIENCE?I have tried to attract my readers by using more dark colours in the magazine to show the genre

of rock and how it is very powerful and aggressive which creates a more of a very hard

meaning rock music magazine. One of these ways is by having a consistent house style

which included the colours red, white and blackI’ve also tried to attract readers by using a graphic and big font for the masthead. As it

would grasp the reader’s attention as it would look very stylish and fresh towards the young

audience.

The tone that I have used is quite informal by using slang and mainly used in 1st/3rd person(as it shows sense of community and sense of

feeling a part of something with other people) as it is particularly aimed at teenagers. As informal language attracts my audience e.g.

let’s rock & roll.The use of font, colour scheme and layout does address my audience by using very dark colours and the colour scheme is very consistent

to create a house style of the colours red, black and white as they are the main colours which are used in other rock magazines as well such

as kerrang and rock sound and the use of the colour scheme correspond with how the genre of rock is being shown and the colour scheme links with how the normal rock artists show their appearance and body attitudes towards their target audience. One of my peers-

Rosemary said what went well was the organisation of the magazine(the layout of the magazine), the information in the music magazine was well presented through the use of the colour scheme

and the type of language that is being used to attract my target audience which is informal language. Another peer Tahlema gave me some feed back of what went well which was including bold colours and titles to attract my target audience a way for me to improve is to

possibly have a background or some borders to shape up the magazine.

HOW THE USE OF THE IMAGES HELPS ME TO ADDRESS MUSIC WITHIN THE MUSIC MAGAZINE

The use of the images of the models helps me to address how my target audience, as mostly female rock bands and artists are in them. Which

clearly establishes how it is mostly aimed at female rockers who are into the rock music, fashion and want to know more about the culture of it. As, the rock music fans would want to explore ,more in the genre of rock e.g. they would want to find more rock music artists out, they would want to discover more about the unknown artists e.g. there tours, concert/gig dates, albums/Eps/singles and etc. Also, the use of different types of

social media is very effective towards my target audience as they receive information from different types of social media such as Instagram or

twitter.
