TRANSCRIPT
4. How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation
stages?
• Construction • Throughout the construction of my
three products is the stage in which Iused the most amount of mediatechnologies, the majority of which Ihad no prior experience of using suchas; iMovie, video camera, tripod, boompole and microphone,
• Others I had basic knowledge such as;GarageBand from playing around in myspare time.
• GarageBand was used for the construction andediting/ manipulation of sound in my trailer, such asbackground music, the voice over and sound effects.
• To create the music used when each of Rachel’s friendsgo missing and are in danger I used the Piano softwareinstrument. I used the keyboard on my laptop to typein the notes as if it were a musical keyboard.
• However, I used the on-screen keyboard to movebetween the higher and lower noted ends of thekeyboard.
• This can be seen on the next slide
• I then, used the button, in order to edit the notes I had played and recorded.
• I shifted them up and down individually, until I had the sound I had desired.
• Below is a link to the finished sound

• InDesign and Photoshop are programs I used in ASmedia to construct my practical courseworkassignment. It has however been over a year since Ihave used any of these and I felt as though I had torelearn how to use the tools.
• I used Photoshop to edit the images I had taken for myposter and magazine cover, I used the rubber tool toremove the background which then allowed me toplace the image onto a darker background and still lookprofessional, I changed the direction of lighting on theclose-up images of Rachel which I used for the poster. This attracted attention to the image more allowing theaudience to notice see the star actress.
• I also created the background of my poster on Photoshop as there is an effect called cloud, which I felt, added a very fitting mysterious look to the poster, this wasn’t available on InDesign
• InDesign was used to add the text and images for my poster and magazine.
• I played around with this effect until I found one I felt was suitable
• IMovie was used to edit the footage I had filmed, on this software I was able to cut the film, rearrange it into scenes, add in sound I had recorded separately and the music I had created on GarageBand.
• Initially he footage was 12 minutes long and I have now condensed it to 2 minutes 41 seconds, which is the length of an average film trailer.
• I also used Imovie to add the typography
