What have you learnt

about technologies when

constructing your

product?

InDesign

From using this software I have learnt how to make my magazine look

professional and realistic and how to use the various different settings within

the programme to there full ability. Furthermore, I was able to understand what

worked best for me and what worked less effectively. Also I think if I decided to

use PowerPoint instead that I wouldn’t have been able to get the same effect

and due to PowerPoint having limited settings in comparison to InDesign which

has a wide variety, moreover, I feel that InDesign allowed me to be adventurous

with my piece.

Photoshop

With using Photoshop I learnt about the individual settings and how useful they

were when editing my photos. Furthermore, I learnt what worked best and what

settings which worked less effectively. In addition, I discovered that I could edit

the exposure of light in the image and edit the hue and saturation within an

image as well as other settings such as brightness, contrast etc.

For example, with one of my picture of Ne-Yo I adjusted the brightness and

contrast. Afterwards, I changed the exposure of light to make the image brighter

because the original lighting in the image was quite dark. Next, I adjusted the

hue and saturation to a more natural tone as the image was quite red due the

lighting at the concert when I took the image as the venue was quite dark.

Digital Camera

From using a digital camera I have learnt about the different settings available

to be used and what camera angles worked best for taking my pictures.

Moreover, I was able to establish what lighting worked most effectively and how

to position the music artist in the frame.

Blogger

From using Blogger it enabled me to keep a record of all thoughts and ideas

throughout this project and I found that it enabled to represent the journey I

have come from the beginning to now and shows what skills I have gained.

Furthermore, I have been able to keep all my work in one place but in

comparison to doing it by hand enables me to constantly edit my work on the

go but also with the development of the blogger app which I downloaded from

iTunes enabled me to complete my work no matter where I was whether it

would be out on the train for example, I was always able to update it. Moreover,

I was able to include other technology whilst using the website for example,

embed videos, presentations using slideshare and prezi presentations.

Microsoft Word

From using Microsoft word it enabled me to write the essays analysing the different

contents pages and double page spreads I looked at when carrying out the research

before making my own magazine.

Microsoft PowerPoint

From using PowerPoint I was able to make the presentations to evaluate my work and

moreover, it enabled me to put the pictures of my drafts and final outcomes of them on

their.

From using this software I was able to create interactive presentations and I learnt that

you could make them follow easily between each part. Furthermore, I learnt that you can

insert pictures off of the internet through a search engine when you try to insert an image.

SlideShare

From using this software I learnt how to upload presentations and other files such as word

documents. Furthermore, I have learnt how to embed them on to my blog posts.
