How does your media product represent particular social groups? My media product is mainly aimed at females between the ages of 15 and 24. Due to my target audience I have made sure my magazine is going to be right for this category. To do this I have made the layout quite easy to understand and have added an image that I feel will be popular with my target audience. I have also made my product look quite colourful so it does not come across as boring. The artists that I have included in my magazine are also quite current and popular. People like ‘Fall Out Boy’ and ‘Ed Sheeran’ are mainly aimed at the younger generation in the media. The artists included are stereotypically enjoyed and listened to by young people which is why I have incorporated them into my magazine. Teenage females are going to be my main target audience, to show this I have included colours which will hopefully catch their attention such as pink, yellow, black and white. The colour pink is stereotypically related to the female gender. On the other and my magazine could also be aimed at the male gender because I have used a contrast with the dark colours. I have also used a photograph of a male artist on the cover of my magazine which generally is expected be more of an interest to the female gender.

The subject on the cover of my magazine is a young male artist; this is another stereotypical interest of the female gender as they enjoy reading about the opposite gender. My magazine costs £2.99 which is not too expensive for young people to buy. It is aimed at people who are members of the working class as they have the right amount of time and money to be interested in purchasing the magazine. My music magazine represents the age of my target audience as it includes artists that will appeal to young people. I have also set out my magazine using fonts and colours that will attract young people. Age is represented through the informal language in my interview. Words such as ‘gonna’ show that the interviewee is young so other young people will be able to relate. My magazine is aimed at mostly teenage girls.
