To request bids to develop a web interface that will allow local education agencies to collect Youth Risk Behavior data from individual Wisconsin students and to present anonymous disaggregated results in a report format. The Wisconsin Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) is conducted as part of a national effort to monitor health risk behaviors of the nation’s high school students. These behaviors, in turn, result in the most significant causes of both mortality and morbidity of youth and adulthood. The behaviors monitored by the Wisconsin DPI (YRBS) include traffic safety, weapons and violence, suicide, tobacco use, alcohol and other drug use, sexual behavior and diet, nutrition and exercise.

CESA #5 Proposed web-based Wisconsin Professional Development Model which would provide a structure for professional development that focused, collaboratively and directly supports the Wisconsin Special Education Plan. It will provide a forum for WI teachers to be kept current on the new Teacher-to-Teacher Initiative, provide models for best practices in professional development that are aligned to the National Staff Development (NSDC) standards and be aligned to the Wisconsin Education Standards. In this way, the web-site will support WI’s PI-34 law and, under the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act, to implement the highly qualified teacher requirement. Most importantly, it will provide access for special education teachers and administrators to learn about and present scientifically based research professional development models that improve the outcomes for students. This is part of the WI Regional Service Network (RSN) which has representatives from the (Cooperative Educational Service Agencies (CESAs) whose major focus is to promote continuous school improvement to support full educational opportunities for children with disabilities, especially in the areas of reading and math.
