New Recycling Hauler! at the May 2 meeting, the city council approved low-bidder Republic Services to provide city-wide recycling collection. Republic will deliver new containers to households the week of august 27. Due to the Labor Day holiday, Republic’s first collection day will be Friday, September 7. See the enclosed flyer for details. OLD VINTAGE AND RANDY'S BINS: On thursday, august 30, be sure to have your Vintage or Randy’s bins out for removal, even if you don’t have recycling to be serviced. Vintage and Randy’s bins will be removed that day.
Greenwood ParadeGreenwood will celebrate July 4th
with our annual parade that travels from Greenwood Park to the Old Log
and back. Dress in red, white, and blue. Decorate your bike, wagon, or stroller. after the parade, there will
be games, prizes, and treats for kids. Bring your family and friends to
join in the fun! Meet at the park by Covington and Fairview at 9:45am.

Summer is here – finally! See below for info about city items of interest ... • The city's contract with Randy's Environmental Services expires in August, so the
city council approved a request for proposals to provide city recycling services. Republic Services was the low-bidder and will begin providing recycling collection services in September. See the insert for more details.
• The planning commission and city council continue to work on the ordinance to regulate residential properties based on lot characteristics.
• In May, the city council approved the draft of the city's 2040 Comprehensive Plan and sent it to neighboring jurisdictions for input. The city council will review comments (if any) at the December council meeting and approve a draft to send to the Met Council.

Watercraft Operation Reminders & Increased Water Patrol In response to concerns raised by residents, water patrol presence will continue to be strong in St. alban’s Bay during the summer of 2018. the increased patrol has and will continue to deter unsafe and inconsiderate activity in the bay. Residents should call 911 to report both dangerous and non-emergency concerns. For example, a driver towing people close to docks or other watercraft is a dangerous activity that should be reported immediately. Loud music from an anchored boat is an example of a concern that could be reported. If possible, please include the boat description and license number when calling 911. Here are a few rule reminders:• WATERSkIING, TUBING, WAkE
SURFING hours are sunrise to 1/2 hour after sunset. Boats and jet skis towing people are required to have an observer 12yrs or older in addition to the driver.
• JET SkI hours are 9:30am to 1 hour before sunset. Operation of a jet ski for more than 30 minutes in one area is prohibited.
• A MINIMUM WAkE is required for boats and jet skis within 150ft of shore, swimmers, docks, or another boat / jet ski. exception: normal speed is allowed perpendicular from the shore from which a boat or jet ski is operating.

2018 City Road Projectsthis year’s proposed projects include: (1) MINNETONkA BLVD concrete gutter and patching on the eastbound lane. (2) Re-grading and new bituminous surface on FAIRVIEW STREET between Meadville and the south leg of Covington Street, and approx 170 feet long between the two recently completed sections and MEADVILLE STREET from the intersection with Minnetonka Blvd to approx 170 feet to the northwest. (3) General crack repair. (4) General pothole repair. Bids will be considered for approval at the July 10 council meeting. Work will begin in late summer or early fall.
