3 positive numbers are in the ratio of 3:2:1, sum of their squares is 896. What is the least among

three? • Let us assume the three numbers to be 3x,

2x, 1x. • Let us square them. • We get: • 9X^2+4X^2+1X^2 = 896. • 14X^2 = 896• X^2 = 64 or X = 8• The numbers are : 24,16 and 8 answer.


A and B do some work in 20 days, B alone can do this in 30 days. In how many days can A alone to it?

• 1/20 – 1/30

• LCM of 20 and 30 is 60. So take 60 as denominator

• (3-2)/60 = 1/60

• Reverse it .

• Thus A alone can do it in 60 days. Answer.


Area of square field is 24200 sq.m. How long will a person

take to cross the field diagonallly at the rate of 6.6 KM per hour?

• We have to find diagonal of this square. • Diagonal is = ½*D*D =24200• D^2 = 48400• D = 220 meters or .220 KM. • Divide it by 6.6, we get .033• .033 *3600 = 120 seconds or 2 minutes.


The area of a square is 324. if circle has a diameter which is of the same length of the side of

square, what is the area of circle?


Solution . . .

• Square root of square = 324^1/2 = 18

• Thus radius is 9

• Area of circle is : pi * 9^2

=22/7*81 = 254.57 answer.


If 3^a=729 and 2^b=512, then what’s the value of 5a+3b/6a-2b? • A = 6

• B = 9

• (30+27)/(36-18)

=3.167 answer.


Length of hypotenuse of a triangle is 22, one angle is 30 degree. What is the length of the side opposite to

the angle?

• Sin = Perpendicular / Hypoteus nuse

• Sin 30 degree = ½

• Let us assume that Perpendicular is X

• Thus X /22 = ½

• Thus X = 22 / 2 or 11.

• Thus Perpendicular is 11. answer.
