Dear Parents,
Wow! What an event! It was so fabulous to be a part of the Wyee Round Up on Friday. It was wonderful to see so many of our students, their families, ex-students and the wider community coming together and having a good time. Everyone seemed to manage to overcome the severely windy conditions and still have a good time! Thank you to all the parents and friends who assisted on the day, without this help we would not have been able to host such a wonderful display of class stalls.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank Sarah and Tammy who worked tirelessly throughout this year to organize the Wyee Round Up! What a mammoth effort from the 2 of you! Thank you also to the members of the P&C who helped behind the scenes throughout the year and on the day!
Baby News! We are very excited to announce that Mrs Wade, her husband and Violet have welcomed baby Arthur Jack into their family. Arthur was born on Thursday 8th November. Mum and bub are well and have settled into home beautifully.
Staffing News It is with sadness that I announce that Mr Russell will not be ay Wyee PS next year. Mr Russell has made a decision to explore other school settings and will be working at Grahamstown PS during 2019. The students and staff will miss him greatly around our school but we know what great things he’ll contribute to Grahamstown. Mr Russell will also enjoy the shorter driving distance I am sure! We wish him all the best on his new adventure.
Congratulations! Congratulations to Lachlan who has yet again done an amazing job making his family and all of us very proud! Lachlan won Gold in the 800m and Bronze in the 200m. Today we all enjoyed cheering Lochie on in the 10-12 year boys Medley Relay MC Final. What a little champ!
Have a great week! Lyndal Coleman Principal Did you know? Smelling bananas and/or green apples (smelling, not eating) can help you lose weight!

2019 Prefect and Captain Speeches
Students who have been nominated by their peers and who have met the nomination criteria will be presenting a speech as to why he/she should be voted in to represent Wyee Public School as a Prefect in 2019. The students need to be prepared to present their speech to the school at an assembly in the school hall on Friday 7th December at 12.10pm. Parents are welcome to attend the assembly to watch their child’s speech.
After the assembly, students in Years K-5 and staff will vote for the students to represent the school as Prefects and Captains. The Prefects and Captains selected will be announced at the School’s Presentation Day Ceremony.
Students need to present a 1 minute speech. The students are not permitted to use props/aides while presenting their speech.
School Opal Card Students moving onto High School or students transiting from Infants (Year 2) to Primary (Year 3) will need to apply for a new Student Opal card for 2019. A new application is only required if the student has not had a School Opal card before. Step 1—Once the new school has confirmed your child’s enrolment, complete the application at transportnsw.info/school-students Step 2—The school endorses your application.
