Comb arrived: 9 May Doublet layer arrived: 15

Length of the scintillating fibre is about 40cm, bit short to play with comb

Need to shift doublet layer on vacuum chuck

For bundling of the fibre, better to cut the fibre to the same length

For the production version, the length of the fibre > 50 cm, will be OK

Vacuum pump is quite noisy;better to move outside of the room to make a worker friendly environment

Align the vacuum chuck with alignment pinuntil the fibres on the CRT and the crosshairs on the CRT match

Then scan across the fibreto check deviation from straightness

Stage controller boot sequence;1. Double click

D:/Microscan/Microscan.ht2. Open MicroScan.txt on desktop3. Copy texts to hyper terminal4. Type “man()” then press return;

a text “UNDER MANUAL CONTROL” should appear onLCD of SPECTROLAB MICROSCAN

Tools and parts scattered around in the room;need to tidy the room for efficient work

PC for stage controller too slow;Windows XP running on Pentium 200MHz with 128MB memory; ridiculous10 minutes to boot; 10 minutes to shut down
