NOTE : Air is not required, nor is anymodification to the PD file.

NOTE : We recommend that you purchase a HOVER-DAVIS MPF856-PS PowerSupply for off-line set-up of your feeders. The QF feeders performancemay be reduced on the FUJI powered stations. There is a risk of ablown fuse on theFUJI station and / or low feeder drive torque onthe FUJI station.

- Put the Feeder on your Feeder set-up station.

- Place the reel over the Tail Hub as shown in on page 1-3.

- Thread the tape along the tape path until you can peel the cover tape throughthe Tape Window and back to the Take Up Wheel as shown in

on pages 1-3 through 1-6. The tape is secured to the Take Up Wheel withadhesive tape. show how the cover tape should be loadedrelative to the rollers.

- Turn to page 1-2 entitled .

- With the tape securely loaded into the feeder, you now have to locate the firstcomponent of the reel at the Pick Point. Using SINGLE HOLE FEED,( See page 1-2 ) position the first component so that it is centered in the PickPoint mark as shown in on page 1-6.

- Now you have to set the pitch setting of the unit. First identify the pitch of thetape you are using. Secondly, find the corresponding pitch number on the

on the Control Panel of the feeder as shown on page 1-2. Then set theso that it represents the number required on the Pitch Chart.

- At this point, the feeder is ready to be loaded on the machine. After it is securelyloaded onto the feeder bank, plug the Interface Cable into the appropriatereceptacle as per FUJI operation.

Solution -

Interface Cable

QF Controller and Control Panel

The STATUS LIGHT, located on the top side of the QF feederControl Panel is not illuminated when the feeder is plugged into a machineor a HOVER-DAVIS MPF856-PS Power Supply. The feeder is not operational.

Remember first, that the FUJI machine will not power the feederswhen the FUJI machine doors are OPEN. Check this possibility first.

Inspect the QF feeder's ( 418A-002 ) for cuts, abrasions, ora broken / loose connector. Inspect the connector on the machine also. Oneof these two mating parts may be damaged. If the cable is found to bedamaged, the feeder must be disassembled and the cable replaced. Once thefeeder is reassembled, verify the proper operation of the feeder. If the STATUSLIGHT still does not illuminate, the( 410A-S64, 410A-S45, or 417A-S45 ) must be replaced.
