It has been lovely to see the children back in school and I hope you all managed to have a relaxing summer break. I would

like to warmly welcome all of our new staff, children and families as they begin an exciting educational journey with us. It

has been an extremely busy few days at school as we are all trying to readjust to the changes that have had to occur. I have

been extremely impressed with how well the children have settled back into school after such a long break for many of

them.

PSA… In the summer we said goodbye to many members of the PSA committee as their chil-dren were moving on to secondary school. They had worked exceedingly hard to help support QE and we were very appreciative of their time and dedication. We are pleased to report that we have a new committee who have volunteered to step up and are extremely grateful to them. They have set up a page on our website and you can find lots of information about planned activities and what you can do to help on that page. There will be a PSA meeting on the 28th September at 8pm and this will be held virtually on Zoom:

This will be an opportunity for you to meet the new committee and to see what you can offer if you wish to help. If you would like to contact the PSA before then or have any enquires, you can contact them via the following email address: [email protected].

Climbing Frame… The climbing frame on the new astro turf is finally going to be installed next Wednesday and Thursday. Please may I ask that you do not allow your children (QE children or their siblings) to play on it when you are picking up from school.

COVID—19… We are delighted that so many things in school have now returned to some normality and the children are enjoy-ing working in groups, having assemblies in the hall and spending more time together. We are still aware that Coronavirus has not gone away and that people are still catching it and are unwell. Please can we request, that for the well being of our whole school community and especially those who are more vulnerable, that you get a PCR test for your child/children should any member of your household test positive. Thank you.

Healthy Snacks… The children are allowed to bring in a healthy snack for break in the morning. Please can I ask that these are healthy and that they do not con-tain any nuts as we are a nut free school and have children at QE with serious nut allergies.

Watches… Please can I remind you that smart watches, that the children can play games on, are not permitted in school.

Uniform Reminders… The children have returned to school looking extremely smart. On their PE days they are to come to school in their PE kits. There have just been a couple of things that we are noticing. The ear rings that they wear should only be studs, they are not permitted to wear nail varnish and please can we ask that they tie their hair back.

Staff Leaving… We are very sad to be saying goodbye to one of our Teaching Assistants, Mrs Mosobbir, next week. She has worked at Queen Eleanor’s for many years now. We would like to thank her for all of her hard work and dedication to QE and wish her every success and happiness in her new school.

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
