EXTERIOR PUBLIC ART ON CAMPUS
The University of Montana’s collection of public art includes 21 distinctive sculptures. Acquired through the campus art siting program, the campus percent for art program, and private donations, the collection represents a broad spectrum of regional artists.
MONTANA MUSEUM OF ART & CULTURE
The mission of the Montana Museum of Art & Culture is to actively engage The University of Montana community and a diverse public in the appreciation of arts and culture through collections stewardship, exhibits and programs that educate and enrich.
The Permanent Collection, begun in 1894, now includes nearly 11,000 original works. It is among the largest and oldest collections in Montana and the Rocky Mountain Northwest. The Museum exhibits from its permanent holdings and provides spaces for invitational and traveling exhibitions.
The Montana Museum of Art & Culture currently utilizes two gallery spaces - the Paxson and Meloy Galleries in the UM PARTV Center.
