Info regarding Qantas Qantas is the national airline of Australia providing people

transportation to different countries . Qantas was founded in November 16, 1920. Qantas meaning “Queensland and Northern Territory aerial service” is Australia’s largest airline and second oldest in the world. It is a multinational corporation and is involved within the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX).

Qantas holds %65 share of the Australian domestic market. Holds around 30,000 employees There total revenue as of 2013 is $15.9 billion dollars. There net profit is $6 million dollars Qantas total value of assets is $20.2 billion dollars

Issues that have affected QantasIssues that have affected Qantas are:

The Malaysian Airline incident: Although the Malaysian Airline incident did not involve Qantas directly, it did however had a major effect on them. The tragedy caused Qantas to improve its travel safety.

Tax cost leading to price rise: Qantas being a large Australian corporation cannot avoid paying taxes, this is a contributing factor towards there decrease in profit. Due to this, Qantas has increased the price of tickets , causing them to lose plenty of customers.

Comparison of performance2014: Loss: ($2.8 Billion)

Revenue: $15, 352 Million

2013:Profit: $2 Million Revenue: $15, 902 Million   Based on results , Qantas performed worse this year compared to

last year. This year Qantas recorded a loss of $2.8 Billion but made a $2 million profit in 2013. The revenue for 2014 was also less then 2013’s total revenue.
