Working Out My Magazine• I spent sometime looking at different kinds of music magazine

• I looked at the different genres and how their styles, layouts, colour schemes, fonts, and general presentation differed from each other.

• I then decided which genre I knew more about or which I would find easiest styling my models for.

After My Research

• After looking at the different magazines and choosing a genre I started to put together a questionnaire to hand out.

• This was to get an idea of what people might like to see in the magazine and the style etc.

• (Questionnaire on slide 4.)

• However after some more research I changed my questionnaire a little

• This was because some of the original questions were too long

• I did not want people to get bored answering my questionnaire so I tried to make it quick and simple.

• (Questionnaire on slide 5.)

Getting Results For Questionnaires• I wanted to receive a wide range of results for my

questionnaire and I had to work out how to do so.

• I passed a few out to friends at college.

• I then sent out a few to my friends on social media sites such as Facebook, this is a good way to reach people and get responses.

• I also was able to pass a few out at my mums work, this allowed me to get some results from people aged over 20.

• And the other useful place was at my brothers university, he passed a few out to his friends and house mates.

• Handing out the questionnaires like this enabled me to get a diverse set of results by having a large age range and also opinions, I was able to see what people were interested in.

• The questionnaire allowed me to decide my target audience’s age, style and whether it would be more lenient towards a gender.

This means…• After looking at the results and putting them into graphs I was able

to determine more easily what my magazine should include and represent.

• The results also allowed me to see what people are attracted too, this way I could include all sorts of features that are relevant to the magazine and gain a large audience.

• I decided to focus my magazine on a set target audience, such as female dominated around the ages of 16 – 21. However this does not mean I will rule out ideas of features that would appeal to male readers.

• These results are also able to give me an idea of the price range I will set, even though the male responders did not have a large price range, I am able to push it a little because of the female result and as my magazine will be targeted mostly to female readers then I can focus my pricing around them too.
