Claudia Comay will show you how to take an inspirational message of your choosing and encode it to develop a one-of-a-kind design. Each student will create a quilt top that is unique. This four-session class will be a mixed discussion of design ba-sics, pattern creation on paper, and fabric selection. You will have plenty of time for sewing. ■

This dynamic design is all about bands of color that cre-ate a wonderfully pleasing quilt. Although the sample is made from striped fabrics, please don’t feel limited. It would be equally exciting in a variety of plaids, checks or dots. Join the quilt’s creator Laura Nownes for a truly inspiring class. This is a relatively easy way to make one of our all-time favor-ites–the Irish Chain. Find a beau-tiful focus fabric, and Ann will show you how to cut and piece the two chain fabrics so that you have contrasting “chains” running in opposite directions. It looks complicated but it really isn’t, and you’ll be thrilled with the results. Most people go on to make several more! ■

Pat will teach you a clever and easy method for the flying geese triangles that you’ll use over and over again. ■
