“PYTHAGOREAN THEOREM AND DISTANCE FORMULA”
Joseph Stewart
What is the Pythagorean Theorem? The Pythagorean Theorem is a^2 + b^2 = c^2. The type of triangle you use is right angle triangle.
A^2 + b^2 = c^2. C^2 is the hypotenuse.
3 + 5 = x
3^2 + 5^2 = X^2
9 + 25 = x^2
34 = x^2
X = 5.8

DISTANCE AND FORMULA
The formula is (x2 – x1)^2 + (y2 – y1)^2.
You use this to find the x and the y for the two problem.
First you write out the number, then you find witch one is x and witch one is y. After doing that you are able to find your answer.
EXAMPLES
(2,3) (1,4)
(2-1)^2 (3-4)^2
1^2 =1 1^2=1
=2
X= 1.4
