• Case Restriction cont.– No in-line (Hedland style) flow meters, they
tend to be quite restrictive, the flow path through the meter is only a ½” inch diameter hole. If using one please, install a ball valve in parallel with the meter. Keep the ball valve open when you are not monitoring case flow.

• Answer: Turbulent Flow or pressure drop. Turbulent flow scrubs cold oil off the tubes and mixes it with hot oil, thus creating cooler oil.
