FLOATING BALL VALVESThe Petrostar floating ball valves are designed, constructed and tested according to the most recent international standards, such as API, ASME/ANSI, BS, DIN, etc. Wide ranges of materials are available as our standard ranges of metallurgy. Ball valves are available with in full compliance with NACE-MR-01-75. Special materials are also available on request. The ball valves are provided with soft seats with secondary metal seats for fire safety applications. In the event of disintegration of soft seats, well designed metal seats take care of sealing. The packing is provided with Graphite packing which is suitable to withstand highest temperature applications. Floating ball valves are generally used for lower operating pressure and smaller sizes. The line pressure acts on the ball surface to force the ball against lower pressure side seat. Petrostar valves are designed and manufactured with high precision engineering for the highest valve integrity even al lower pressure. Our Ball valves general features are listed as below 1) Cavity Relieving Seat: The trapped process medium can generate excessive pressure due to the thermo-volumetric expansion. The seat is designed in such a way that no excessive pressure can be built up in the cavity 2) Blow-out proof stems to prevent the media from blowing out. Smaller size valves are designed with self shouldered design with inside entry which assures maximum safety. 3) Anti-static ball device 4) Integral ISO mounting pad 5) NACE MR.01-75 as Standard 6) Fire safe according to API 607/ API 6FA 7) Available in Uni-body and Split body designs 8) Nil or lowest Emission 9) Designed according to ASME/ANSI B16.34 and BS5351. 10) Wide ranges of body/Internal/seat materials are available 11) Lowest operating torques for easy and economical actuation



TRUNNION BALL VALVESPrinciple of sealing: The sealing system of Trunnion ball valves manufactured by Petrostar are spring assisted ones, which provide tightness at low or high pressures range. The spring assistance provides the necessary initial sealing pressure at low pressure values, while the rising differential pressure resulting from the pressure increase presses the seat ring onto the ball surface. The ball valves can be assembled into the line regardless of the flow direction. Automatic reduction of body cavity pressure: The sealing system design in ball valves automatically allows the release of the excessive body cavity pressure into the lower pipe pressure side in case of pressure differences greater than 10 bars.

Bi-directional sealing system: The special sealing system of ball valves assures the inlet and outlet side tightness of body cavity. In case of failure of either gasket, the remaining seal provides the tightness of the body cavity. The double sealing system of Trunnion type ball valves includes a PFTE insert besides the specially formed elastomer sealing element, which also fulfills the bearing function between the ball and the seat ring. Furthermore, it protects the gasket from failures caused by solid particles and by the erosion of the flowing medium.



Secondary sealing system at the seat ring: The design of Trunnion ball valves allows injection of plastic packing material and therefore smaller leakages can be temporarily eliminated in closed position. Injection of the packing material to the ball is possible through special ducts machined into the sealing groove of the seat ring, assuring the tightness between the seat ring and the ball.

Double sealing system at the driving stem: Two sealing elements assure the sealing of the driving stem into the direction of the ambient area. In case of failure, the second element can be changed without disassembling the ball valve after depressurization. Besides the primary O-ring gasket the sealing of the driving stem of Trunnion type ball valves is assured with the plasticity assisted PFTE profile gasket. In case of leakage to the ambient the sealing function can be restored by setting of the adjusting screw. The Petrostar Trunnion mounted ball valves are designed constructed and tested according to API-6D.
