What you Need:
A Pre-Washed T-Shirt
Freezer Paper
Fabric Paint
Paint Brushes or Foam
Cardboard
An Iron
Trace (either over or under) the stencil on a sheet of Freezer Paper – shiny (waxy) side DOWN.
Cut out the Stencil. Be sure to pay attention to the Positive & Negative Spaces & to make sure any “Bridges” don’t get cut!
Place the piece of cardboard inside the t-shirt & iron the freezer paper to the shirt – WAXY SIDE DOWN!
Once the freezer paper has been ironed onto the shirt, any “Bridges” can be cut out with a craft knife
Put the fabric paint on the brush or piece of foam & apply to the shirt. DON’T BRUSH! Press the brush straight down onto the fabric.
Let the paint dry a little, then carefully peel the freezer paper off of the shirt.
Leave the cardboard inside the shirt until the paint dries.
What you Need:
32 Popsicle Sticks + Masking tape + Rubber Bands
Scissors + a Pencil
Set aside 5 popsicle sticks to form the “arm” of the catapult. Tape the rest of the sticks together in bundles of 3 so that the 3rd stick re-enforces the other
Take 3 of the bundles & tape them together end-to-end to make a triangle. Make 3 of these triangles.
Tape the 3 triangles together as shown so that 2 of them stand upright & the 3rd forms the base.
Tape the remaining 5 popsicle sticks together, then tape them loosely to the point where the 3 triangles meet. This will be the arm of the catapult & it should move freely.
Wrap one end of the rubber band around the top of the catapult & secure the other end to the arm about an inch & a half from the end.
The placement of the rubber band on the arm can be adjusted to alter the height & trajectory.
Small wads of paper make excellent safe ammunition.
Set up some sort of target range: paper cups, masking-tape marks on the floor, or even Boxpunx.
Award distance & accuracy.
Outside Catapult programs can shoot chunks of carrots, celery, etc. for enviro-friendly ammunition.

What You Need:
end of a Toothbrush
coin cell or watch battery; 1.5 – 3 v
vibrating pager motor
double-sided foam tape
Tools: clippers + scissors
Things to note:
motors should have wire Leads.
you can DIY or purchase them direct.
You can use Hot Glue or Stick-tack/ Poster Putty instead of foam tape.
Where do I…?
Motors & batteries are available on-line. Remember to get motors with leads already attached.
Toothbrushes can be found at most dollar stores.
Many sites sell complete kits which include everything you need.
Snip the heads off the toothbrushes.
Apply the Foam Tape to the top of the toothbrush head. Trim off excess.
(or use a little dab of hot glue or poster putty)
Stick the motor to the tape. The rotating weight should hang over the end of the brush or be high enough to spin freely.
Bend one of the leads down flush with the tape to make contact with the bottom of the battery (it doesn’t matter which one).
Stick the battery down onto the bottom lead & bend the top lead to touch the top of the battery. If they make contact correctly, the motor should spin!
Which game system?
Can it be borrowed? Purchased second-hand? Donations?
Content?
How to present/ display it? Projector? Sound?
