EASD CODING CONTEST TIMELINE

December: Hour of Code & Contest Kickoff

• Computer Science Education Week kicks off with an Hour of Code. Want to keep coding? Join the EASD Coding Contest!

• EASD Code Con promotional video lets teachers, students, parents see what #EASDCodeCon is.

• General information provided so students start thinking about teams and projects.

• Contact information (website, email address, and Remind alerts) shared.

• Save the dates: March 21, 27, 28. January: Form Teams & Complete Registration Form

• Team registration forms distributed first week of January. All team members sign up on the same form.

• Students without teammates can talk to a teacher for help finding partners in the same grade level and school.

• Presentations at schools overview contest format and rules, preview prizes, and answer questions.

• Registration forms and device loan requests (for grades K-6) due to homeroom teachers by Friday, January 25th.

February: Work on Coding Projects

• Loaner devices distributed to K-6 students requesting laptops.

• Details about CodeCon dates, format, and interview expectations provided to participating students.

March: Finish Projects, RSVP, and Attend #EASDCodeCon19

• Final RSVP: Let us know you’re attending CodeCon so we can order your shirt and assign you a table. A link will be emailed.

• Note: You and your team can come to CodeCon even if your project isn't completely finished!

• EASDCodeCon: March 21, 27, 28 (dates and grade levels TBD).

#EASDCodeCon is an Ephrata Area Education Foundation Signature Program.
