Pair Share:What do you think a narrative artwork could be? Explain your reasoning to your partner. Ceremonial This artwork is created for a specific event. This is also associated by the culture. Pair Share: What are some examples of ceremonial artwork? Explain your reasoning. What would be a cultural ceremonial art? Functional This artwork is made to serve a specific purpose. It is something that you use. It looks interesting while still serving its purpose. Pair Share: What are some examples of functional artwork and why would that be a functional piece of art? What makes it different or standout? Persuasive This artwork is made to try and make you feel the way the artist feels. What are some examples of persuasive artwork? What makes them a persuasive artwork? Rosie the Riveter is a cultural icon of the United States, representing the American women who worked in factories and shipyards during World War II "We Can Do It!" by J. Howard Miller was made as an inspirational image to boost worker morale Artistic Expression This artwork is made to simply express the artist feelings. This artwork is very personal to the artist. Sometimes these feelings may be shocking or tragic. But they also may show happiness. What emotion does this painting show? Can an artwork serve more than one purpose? Explain or give an example.
