Team will:•Research and produce a literature review on high quality instruction (best practice) in thinking locally and internationally•Identify the thinking skills that can be embedded across all year levels.•Visit other schools to help us identify best practice•Unpack thinking in POLT 4 and VELS•Identify how thinking skills can be introduced in prep level and built upon in subsequent years.

Students will:•Use developmentally appropriate think strategies naturally use a variety of thinking skills in problem solving•Naturally use a variety of thinking skills in problem solving•Develop questioning and reflection skills

Staff will:•Broaden thinking strategies in order to enrich curriculum delivery•Participated in 3 Professional learning activities:

*observe and work with colleagues in using thinking skills in the classroom*shared and document their thinking curriculum ideas with staff at their level, before sharing with the whole staff in the school *attend presentation on thinking approaches for the classroom

Thinking and Level teams will:•Audit current approach and instructional content covered in the thinking curriculum @YRPS•Further develop a comprehensive thinking approach to all curriculum areas building sequentially from level to level •Produce a document to support thinking curriculum at YPRS

•Research study and compare different methodology around thinking from other schools•Research current trends in thinking strategies OZ and internationally•Look at research (ed. References) re types of thinking•Best practice what does it look like … how do we know other schools•Look at associations involved in thinking PEEL / PYP•Plan to visit 2 other schools to look at thinking program for all groups•PD and surveys for teachers around thinking
