Placing ordersFor this purpose, you have direct access to our customer centre at www.jab.de. We will be happy to show and discuss the advantages with you, such as the time saved on delivery. Of course, you can also use the classic method via a fillable PDF or in paper form. Orders placed by telephone cannot be accepted due to possible hearing and transmission errors.

Types of finishAccording to the fabric, the side hems and lower hems have either a blind stitch or a visible stitch. Unless indicated, we will blind stitch at no extra charge. Other fabrics, such as coarse linen, grid fabrics or transparent fabrics which cannot be blind stitched by machine because of their texture, will have visible seams.We recommend blind stitch for all satins and densely woven synthetic articles. The elastic blind stitching avoids puckering.Where a blind stitch is used, the seam is one thickness only. The cut edge is overlocked and not turned up, to avoid seam marks on the face of the curtain becoming visible.

Fabrics with a repeatWe will always make up according to the repeat. Please indicate if this is not required. We reserve the right to decide whether the repeat must be followed. The fabric required and thus also the fabric value can change.

Sizes of headingThe overall finished drop always includes the desired size of heading. The overall finished drop is the total height of the curtain or net measured from top of heading to bottom of hem. Upper heading 1 cm when using a standard gathered tape. When using other types of curtain tapes, there is no heading as standard. Desired sizes of heading are available and should be indicated on the order. When working with eyelets, the heading is measured from the upper inside edge of the eyelet.

Lining and interliningAll curtains can be lined and/or interlined. Velvet curtains should always be lined as this enhances the overall appearance.

Pile directionIn the case of one-sided plain velvets we make up with the pile upwards for a more brilliant colour effect. Please take this into account when selecting the article and colour using our sample materials. In the case of linen velvets and double-sided velvets, the pile is downwards. In the case of printed velvets, the pile is upwards or downwards according to the design. If another pile direction is required, please indicate this. Small marks caused by sewing during making up cannot be avoided in the case of velvet curtains.

Pinch pleatCurtains and nets with pinch pleat have 1, 2 or 3 pleats which are sewn in and reinforced with a stiff tape. Velvets can only be made up with 1 or 2 pleats.

Non-visible heading or flat seamDouble-sided curtains can also be finished with a non-visible standard gathered tape and/or a flat seam.

Border and trimCurtains and nets in all types of fabrics (except velvets) are available with a border or trim in one or two colours along the sides and bottom. The border and trim have no seams as they are cut from the length of the material. When using transparent fabrics, we need double the fabric required.

Piped edgingCurtains of any material can be finished with piped edging from all suitable fabrics at an extra charge.

ValanceCurtain lengths are finished on the sides and bottom with a valance of approx. 7 cm seamed in widths. They will be made with several seams, depending on the fabric width.

PackingThe curtains are packed very carefully. However, we cannot guarantee that the curtains will arrive uncreased. We recommend that you iron or steam iron the curtains at low temperature.

Time of deliveryDelivery will generally be made approx. 15 work days after receipt of the order or once the order has been clarified. Once production is scheduled, it is not possible to shorten the delivery time.At an extra charge, selected manufacturing techniques can also be ordered in 72 hours or at the desired date. In case of a fixed deadline, there will be an extra charge. Before public holidays we may need some days longer for delivery. Should it not be possible to meet this delivery time due to a material backlog, you will immediately receive a confirmation stating the new delivery date.

ComplaintsPlease check the curtains immediately upon receipt and before hanging, where quality, colour, measurements and making up are concerned. In the case of faults, it is absolutely necessary that the curtain is returned. We will not accept any re-making charges from your workroom, or any fitting/hanging charges. Curtains delivered as per your order cannot be taken back or exchanged.
